So far so good! I bought this earlier in the winter for a job where I had to keep ice from forming in a drainage pipe. It appears to still be working several months later, so it is doing a great job!

Perfect for PVC piping in winter. I use on a furnace drain line in attic - perfect. Well made and durable for outside or rough area applications.

Used this on a freeze prone floor drain in our shop, works perfectly. Because this product is submersible and heat regulated, I am able to leave it in the 3" PVC drain pipe with no worries. Grateful to have this available, unable to find anything like this locally.

I looked a long time to find this gem! This heat tape can be placed inside a wet drain or on the outside of a water line. I purchased a 5 foot tape for a washing machine drain that freezes in sub zero weather. It worked, so I purchased another for a refrigerator water supply that is exposed to an uninsulated wall. It heated the supply pipe that prevented it from freezing. This heat tape does it all. I would never by another as this one is dual purpose. The price is exceptionally nice. The only problem for me is that I just needed a 5ft tape, but he 10 foot was just a few pennies more :)

They seem to care about what they do and they make really good products. This underwater heat cable is no exception. Very well made. It has a very unique property that the cable supposedly conducts less electricity the warmer it gets... Never heard of that before. Nonetheless, I am going to use an external thermostat to cut power when it warms up and turn it on when it gets cold anywhoo:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CWLBWJH4?th=1 Also made by YeloDeer. It has a very high-quality little manual that is educational as well!I am going to use this in a cattle stock tank to try to keep the water from freezing over in the dead of winter. I will loop it around the tank underwater in the outer, bottom corner and hold it in place with some smooth river rocks. I will lead the power cord over the side where the cows are fenced off from going.I can't see how it works for that application yet, due to the fact that it is currently about 110 degrees outside! But I am going to go right now and put it in the chest freezer, plug it in and see what happens. The freezer is 0 degrees Fahrenheit so that should be a pretty good simulation of winter! Ok, so in the freezer, it quickly warmed up to ‘almost’ too hot to touch, but not quite. Then I took it out and laid it in the hot sun outside, still plugged in. It still stayed pretty hot. But I absolutely can cook an egg on the hood of my truck in this sun, so I covered it with a box to rule out direct sunlight as a heat source, while the air was still very warm. So, whatever I did, it remained almost too hot to touch. If that cooling resistance thing that’s supposed to be in the wires is working, it is really, really subtle! Heh. But I don’t care! I’m going to use a thermostat anyway and I am just very pleased that it gets as hot as it does get!!!The property of being able to shove it down the inside of water pipes is fantastic! I never heard of that before! I’m gonna do it! I have a rainwater catchment system where I collect and save the rainwater off of the main house and various roofs and outbuildings. There are pipes traversing the yard through the air around 8’-6’ off the ground and sometimes they stay frozen because they are still in shadow when the roof ice and snow is already melting and running in the sun. So that wastes water. I’m going to get more of these underwater heat cables and run them through each elevated pipe. That should solve my problem! Great stuff Maynard! Very happy with this new discovery and purchase!!!

I ordered this because the description says it can be used in water.I live in a rural area and have an aerator tank. The treated water flows out of a pipe and falls into a ditch. During extended periods of freezing weather, the water will freeze and block the pipe, causing my tank to become full and signal an alarm.I have other pipe warmers that I use in other pipes, but I haven't ever used them in my aerator pipe. I figured the water was slightly warm anyways so it shouldn't freeze. Well, it did and I'm here to say I won't let that happen again.I like that this kit gets warm and is submersible for wet locations.

I am waiting for winter to see if this functions as it should. For now it looks to be well made just like others I have bought from farm stores before. Interested to see if self regulating output works as it should come winter time. There is nothing that i see at this point that leads me to believe this product wont meet expectations but if it doesn't I will update my review.
