What the number of rating stars mean to me........ I don't give out 5 stars like participation trophy's. It's not fair to manufacturers/sellers that make and sell OUTSTANDING products.5 stars = Items that stand above the rest. Something innovative or of surprisingly high quality.4 stars = A high quality, above average product. These sellers are doing everything right and need no improvement for me to do more business with them. Generally MY highest rating.3 stars = Acceptable products. But room for improvement on price and/or quality.2 stars = Below average. Probably should pass on these unless you are desperate.1 star = Unacceptable junk. Total lack of customer support can also put you here. Avoid at all costs.Ok, just a little background so you know I have some sort of experience and can talk about cage bolts without making things up. ;-) Before I got my class A to drive the Big Trucks I was a journeyman tool and die maker. I also did a little side repair work to all sorts of vehicles including trucks with air brakes. So, I do have a bit of experience with items like this.Right, enough about me. So, I took these down to where I have my Stewart and Stevenson M1083 6x6 parked and put each of them in a can to check for engagement. No problems. They twist in just fine. And after giving them a good looking over, I can tell you all that these cage bolts are threaded with the "Rolled Thread" process. In my book that is a REQUIREMENT for cage bolts as it gives the bolts more strength. A few threads had some very minor dings from handling but, there were no burred up or unacceptably sharp edges. (all the nuts spin on and off completely with no binding.) They came well packaged in a snug fitting box along with washers and nuts. And all the parts came with a nice even bright gold tone zinc coating. Sadly, I can not report on the actual heat treatment of the steel. But, if the manufacturer is willing to do all the other stuff right, I would hope they know how to do the heat treatment as well. As far as the cost goes, the seller is asking right in the middle of the average price range. So Drivers, if you need a few cage bolts to keep under your bunk to get you out of the middle of an intersection and into a safe parking spot when a seal fails and the can won't release, I don't think you can go wrong with a small box of these. Have a safe one fellas.... and ladies. Shiny side up and all that. Shoot, I almost forgot to add the disclaimer/warning! You knew it was coming........ BE VERY CAREFULL whenever working around air brake cans! It is NOT an old wives' tale or urban legend, air brake cannisters CAN KILL YOU!!! So again, please, please, PLEASE be safe with these. Or, leave it to a professional if you have no idea what you are doing. Better to pay a pro a few bucks than risk life and limb. OK, one last time Drivers, BE SAFE!
