Good base microphone, condenser that needs 5V to energize. It works straight in my Live Sound Card with a XLR cable pins 1 and 2 connected to 3.5mm sleeve/tip.Capsule is 15mm .I change circuit board to make a phantom 48V because wants more gain, ( red boards fits perfect in it )

This is a hard one to rate. The mic is $10. It sounds absolutely terrible on its own, but as a donor body for modding its one of the BEST values out there. The stock mic is a 1 star, the mic as a donor is a 5 star. Construction is solid, all the parts are machined very well and the metal has some heft. The surprise for me is that the capsule assembly is all metal. usually with something of this price range, everything is just plastic. Too bad the capsule doesn't pick up anything under 400hz.

So these are stupid cheap and while not nearly as good as a Neumann KMS in a handheld application they actually work pretty well where you would use a small diaphragm condenser. So far I have used it as a drum overhead and on an acoustic guitar. They sound very useable in these roles. The output is really (Really!) hot so a mic pre with a pad is crucial. I tried to use one of these as a hand held and there is definitely a bit of handling noise but not as bad as I was expecting. The real issue is the lack of a good internal wind screen. As a vocal mic the plosives were pretty bad and even. Large bellowing vocals in the lower range acted on the diaphragm of the mic creating a wind rumble. I have added foam windscreens and this helped immensely with the plosives and wind noise although these still wouldn’t be my first grab for a vocal mic. That being said if you use them where you would a small condenser you might be surprised. I bought one and immediately bought 3 more seeing the possibilities for a sub 10$ condenser microphone. The build is nice (the cheesy red ring at the base of the windscreen is removable) and the addition of the foam windscreens over the diaphragm helped a lot with wind noise. One thing to note… 1 of 3 mics I bought on my second round of impulse buying had an intermittent xlr connector. Amazon was quick to send a replacement and I might keep the bad one to experiment on…. This might be a fantastic starting point for some mic modding.

The sound pretty good, the mic is solid, work very good if connect to computerbut does not work 48 volt phantom power on mixer it will make a lot of noise if you connect to 48 volt phantom power. This microphone has a flaw causing a ground noise. The groove at the end where cable connect to it too thick.Cause the cable can not secure attach to it, when it loose it cause noise.

I'll start with the positive --The construction of the microphone body is nice.-It's heavy, and feels like a solid, quality microphone-The threads on the headbasket are smooth.-Actually uses phantom power (although you only need about 9v to make this thing work properly with enough gain.)Now the negative --Plosives are horrible. This mic is missing the inner-most basket layer that the originals and even many of the clones come with (little plastic/mesh basket that goes over the capsule).-Loud popping and static when turning on 48v phantom power.-XLR connector feels loose/wobbly.-Lots of handling noise due to poor isolation between capsule and body (capsule holder is metal and screws into metal body.)-Mic circuit is under-powered (even at +48v), I needed +30db of gain to get a decent signal, and then it was too noisy to be useable.-Simple, very noisy circuit (1 JFET, 1 PNP Transistor, 2 Resistors, and 1 Capacitor). SMT on a PCB that's about an inch long. This thing is basically one of the cheaper BM800 circuits in a handheld microphone. I searched and found the same exact tiny circuit board and similar capsules in some of the lower-priced BM800 variants coming out of china. The capsule might be usable with a better circuit (looks similar to TSB-165A and other 16mm electret variants that are popular). It was worth it to me for the microphone body, since I'll use it in a future project, but if you're buying it to use as-is, you're better off buying a cheap dynamic, you'll get less noise, and better off-axis rejection..3-Stars are not for the functionality of the microphone, but for the fit/finish of the donor microphone body, which I still feel is pretty good for the price!

Sounds OK for the price if you have the right system. and you can't beat the price. Nice looking copy of a Neumann KMS 105 ($699). This is NOT a pro class mic of course. Not for P48 (I didn't try it) but your input must have plug-in power. The listing says only for PC/Laptop, but from my experience, may or may not work/suit your needs. The output level was too low to be usable on my PC and failed to work (same cable) on my laptop, both Windows machines. You get a mic in a plain box. Zero instructions, wiring info, or specs, and since it doesn't come with a cable you're on your own. I had a Hosa 3.5mm to XLR cable for my trials.
