I snagged the original cable on something in my yard while I was mowing, which snapped it, and caused the mower to stop working. It took a bit to find the correct part number for it, but this is a perfect replacement. It actually took longer to get the old cable off than it did to install this one, and my mower is running good as new.

It took me only about 5 minutes to remove the old one and install this one. Fortunately I had seen a you tube video and knew about the trick to install the part near the handle.To remove the old part near the handle or install the new part. Hold the cable and rotate it upwards towards the ceiling, this will allow it to come out of a trough in the handle and then it simply pulls out. Installation is the reverse.One thing I don't like is this cable is a couple of inches too long, so while it works it does want to bulge out or bend out. I used the plastic tie to hold it down near the bottom of the handle.Only needed to use pliers to squeeze the tabs on the plastic part at the engine so I could remove the old one, the new one installed without any tools.

Right out of the box, replacing the cable took maybe 5 mins tops. It fixed our problem immediately. Now I don’t have an excuse to not cut the yard. So, there’s that.
