I have used this about 10 times now in a fireplace with a hardwood fire it still holding its shape.

This was the only one I could find that would fit the depth of my grate. However, it wasn't long enough to cover the width, so I needed to get two and overlap them. That worked fine until the heat from the first fire caused the grate to bend. It will no longer sit flat. I don't recommend this product.

It’s a little small. Should’ve measured. Gets the job done but doesn’t cover my whole wood cradle.

This fit perfectly inside my woodstove base as the shaker/grinder teeth have mostly broken and now a large hole in center of inside ....this heavy duty cast ember retainer works great and keeps the coal and also wood embers from falling through the shaker to pan below...perfect!!

Arrived quickly, was properly packed for shipping. Perfect size for my one-log fireplace. My apartment fireplace is small and came with a 3-bar grate, which is almost useless without this ember retainer. If you have a larger fireplace, go up one size and get the 16x10" ember retainer.

I'm in a rental that uses wood for heat. I figured out that this ember retainer keeps it all together and hotter longer. It's heavy guage (not bendable) so order the one that's the right size. Thanks for solving the stray-coal problem.
