I'm using this on a NEO-7 GPS module to provide GPS positioning information to a Uniden SDS200 scanner. It made a tremendous difference in reception, would highly recommend for this application given its inexpensive cost.

This isn't an active antenna. It's just a little spiral element soldered to the SMA connector.I didn't notice any difference in signal strength using it for GPS, so I hooked it up to a HackRF and lo and behold, it performs like any passive antenna. Bias tee on or off, no difference. Figured I'd see if it opens, sure enough, the plastic sheath slides right off and... dun dun DUNNNN... nothing inside!
