So far, so good. 4 stars because it’s only been a few days and not sure how long it will last. I believe the packaging says 1 year limited warranty. Great price and it works. Perfect match to OEM as shown in photo.

2012 Civic 1.8L packaged fine. Started after install, 4 stars, since it's been one day, we'll see how long it lasts, hope it lasts a year, built in Shanghai , not being $485 oem Japanese starter, maybe I'll get lucky and it will last longer. Original starter lasted 237k miles. So install of this starter... battery disconnected. car still on jack stands from removal and amazon ship time for new starter....took off one of the rear brackets of the new starter out of the box, I believe it was an 8 mil, wasn't needed, snug the starter bolt back into place, check the other bolt from the factory, make sure it's snug. Only the front bracket of starter holds both harness connectors. Put your starter up there, connect the main 12v first, don't overtighten, then clip the white connector to starter. (note the white connector is very close to the black 12v housing, it will go on. and you must do these connectors first, otherwise there is no room under the intake up there to do this, so do it now beforehand) then fish the starter in place on the transmission housing, take your time, get's difficult without straining the wiring harness work you've done. Once it's up there it and the bottom bolt lines up, put the bottom bolt in completely, don't tighten all the way (14 mil socket, I used 3, sometimes 4 extensions on a swivel head socket wrench), then insert the long extended top bolt, it will slide into place, tighten it., snug the bottom bolt. Connect both of them to harness on the corresponding front bracket clip. There are two seperate black connector clips there by the starter, make sure they go together. Use the starter bracket for the harness, otherwise the CV axle is 1/2" away and the starter wires and it will fall onto it, rubbing through the harness. Done. Takes about 40 min with setup and clean up. Helpful extras...when the car is up check the timing cover gaskets, some rtv from the factory barely leaking clean oil, take note. Check front wheel bearings by seeing how much wheel moves top to bottom, Check boot of cv axle, Check how much the cv axle moves around and note the play for the future. Also check the air intake rubber housing up top, mine was split and throwing a code, duct tape the split so it's not sucking in unmetered air until new intake inlet comes in, no code after 40 miles. Replaced engine air filter, cleaned battery terminals. Car has 237K miles 1.8 runs perfect. R18A Engine
