I got this chest protector for my youngest son, with the intent of using it for our martial arts training classes. My son is 6 years old and I am happy with the way this fits him. It goes on like a shirt with a large Velcro strap to tighten if necessary. The material feels good, polyester blend most likely because of the elasticity and strength. I like that he can put take it on and off by himself. I personally think the padding material is too thin for contact sports like Tae Kwon Do, but its just for precautionary protection. My concern is that this will get too hot, but I would recommend still using a light shirt underneath for the skin contact with this material. My son can still move very well in this and looks comfortable on him (see pictures). All in all, I like this, and would recommend purchasing. The price is good and its well made and adjustable for different kids sizes.

This chest protector is well-made, lightweight, and comfortable for kids to wear during training. The adjustable fit is a nice touch, making it easy to put on and take off. The material is breathable, so it doesn’t feel too restrictive, and it allows for a full range of motion during drills.However, for actual sparring classes, it’s just too thin—at least compared to the thicker padding required in my 8-year-old’s class. It offers some protection, but if your dojo or gym expects heavy-duty padding, this might not be enough.For general practice, light drills, or beginner classes, it’s great. But if your child is doing full-contact sparring, you might need something with more cushioning. Solid product—just not the right fit for all training levels.
