Unlike most fobs that are true proximity readers, The sticker almost needs to make contact with the reader physically for it to read.

This product works great and is worth the money. I changed from a keyring fob to this stuck on the back of my phone. This does not add thickness and my case still fits on phone. This works through the phone case as well.

The numbers on the back make these tags very unsightly. I tried blacking them out with sharpie marker, but you can still see them. But they do work to open my apartment building's doors.
