Long teeth are to thin. All the teeth should be double for adequate strength.

I love these combs so much and my current one was on it's last legs, so I was thrilled to find this. While this does help with detangling, assuming you're not trying to comb a heavily matted/pelted dog/area the comb does great getting the tangles out. Aside from that it does also help getting undercoat out, as the different length teeth can get the top and undercoat at one time. It's a great tool to add to my grooming kit, and I will be grabbing another as when I find combs/brushes that I really like they stop making them or takes forever to get back in stock.

On receipt, this product appeared to be a return due to the overall dinginess and dirt embedded in the handle. But, hey, it's a dog comb. Everything seemed intact w/ the metal comb/rake itself, which still seemed shiny, so I thought that I would give it a whirl. The grip is comfortable in the hand. My pup is kept fairly well maintained, so not much need to detangle or demat. However, he is a double-coated breed and sheds like crazy. The comb makes it through most of the length of my pup's doublecoat, but it does not glide as smoothly or effortlessly as my other quality combs and rakes. It also just moves the hair around more than it actually captures or removes anything, which results in numerous passes to pick up anything. Thankfully, the pins do not scratch, so my pup remained patient for this exercise in futility.I admittedly may be somewhat spoiled w/ my pup's grooming products, but this is by no means close to a "professional grade" grooming tool as claimed by the product description. If you are searching for an actual professional grade product, this isn't remotely in the same ballpark. If you simply need any ole' cheap product, this might serve you well enough, but, even then, I would recommend looking elsewhere.
