These cable extensions are well made and sturdy. Definitely a great idea to keep in your emergency kit.

the safety cables on my snowmobile trailer have always been just a little too short for my truck, but they would latch on so it was never a real issue. but after I got rid of that and got my current SUV, they don't reach at all. these solved that problem perfectly. they are reportedly rated for up to 12k lbs each. i don't have any way to test that but it is a thick braided steel cable so it definitely can take a considerable amount of weight. i would be more worried about the included quick links failing before the cable itself.the quick links seem to be of good quality although again, i don't have any way to really test their capacity. but I am not using them. rather i am using a set of hammerlocks to extend the cable.
