Cross cuts aren't square. This came up when I searched for leather bump jigs. This may not be the intended use but I wanted to warn other leather workers.

These two pieces of 6061 were excellent. Not cheap but worth the price.

Bought these to use as "bump jigs" for leatherworking, right out of the package they are great. I cut one in half for smaller projects and ended up saving about $150 over what leather shops would charge for "bump jigs"

These are very high quality, extruded aluminum bars. I’m citing extrusion as a desirable method of forming that is like cold forging, imparting uniform grain to the metal.These are ink branded as being produced by KAISER ALUMINUM, which is a leading USA producer for quality, aluminum, mill stock.The dimensions are accurate and uniform, with no warp. These bars lay perfectly flat against a granite leveling block. All sides are level and square. The thickness (0.25”) and width (1.00”) are precisely as advertised.The finish is smooth, with very fine, longitudinal, natural striations from the extrusion process, and no gouges or scratches. This is a very important quality that reduces the amount of surface finishing / re-finishing needed.The T6511 alloy has excellent tensile strength, and drills, machines, cuts, files and sands cleanly with tools intended for ferrous metals, with no galling. Malleability is good, for forming by bending without cracking. The hardness is sufficient to prevent marring when clamped in vises for machining, etc I haven’t tried welding or brazing these yet.This is very high quality bar stock for my projects. I highly recommend them and plan to order more bar stock in different sizes.Shipping is fast. My order was delivered much sooner than the scheduled date. This enabled me to keep schedule on my projects.

I bought two of these for a project I am working on. The quality is good with no mars or scratches, and the bars are straight. They got shipped quickly and arrived well ahead of the original estimate.
