I made a 12 v battery charger using an old laptop power supply and a BUCK DC voltage converter. When hooked to the 12 v 7amp battery the laptop power supply shut down due to reverse voltage feeding back from the battery. This diode stopped the reverse DC current when installed between the BUCK converter and battery.

Worked perfect, isolated a portion of a 12v circuit in a car, 2 amp load. See some people claiming they don’t work, but no problems for me.
