I'm sorry, I don't like to be Debbie Downer, however I wouldn't waste my money on these again!! We had a groundhog that moved in under my deck and decided to stay. Not owning a trap, I had seen these on Amazon and decided maybe this would be an ideal way to get him to move out. I purchased them and we put them in the little bags and my husband tossed them in a couple areas where we knew the groundhog was staying. That groundhog started tossing them back out into the yard. We saw a couple in the yard, he put them back under the deck and the next day, there was another one tossed in the yard. We never removed them and that groundhog stayed under there for two weeks, so they obviously didn't work as the product claims. We finally found someone that had a trap and put it out there with lettuce in it and early this morning, there it was in the trap! Took it about 10 miles away in a wooded area and set him free. I'm just praying he doesn't have a GPS!!! Save yourself the money and the hassle, get a trap!

Does pretty much as described BUT it will not eliminate the problem pest. I found that the gopher simply moves a few yards away. They will return in very short time. The product works as the description states, you just need to realize it is only a short temporary fix for a very small area. You neighbor will not appreciate you if close by. traps are the only non-poison method I have found to be able to moderately control my problem. Sound stakes are a so so solution and you need a lot of them. Ste stakes also seem to help with snakes. I am in So Cal inland coastal area with a very high natural occurrence of the pocket gopher. Retired, I spend hour or 2 a week killing 3 or 4 in a 2 week period. The poison gas balls commercial pest control use will work with the least amount of personal effort, but it is a rather expensive service and you never can stop in my area. Very difficult critter to control if you are in their sweet spot environment.

Update 2025: Within 3 weeks, all the moles became active again unfortunately. It is not feasible to keep burying these balls. Moles tore up my lawn when they came back. I'll be getting grub treatments this year as well as putting in the stakes that emit sound waves.My neighbor treated their lawn with some serious grub killer, and ALL the moles came to my yard. I was having serious issues - new huge tunnels every single day. When they started digging tunnels in my front lawn where my sod was, I decided to buy this. You have to BURY these. I saw other reviews giving this one star with a picture where they laid the ball right on top the soil. That is NOT how you're supposed to put these in your lawn. You have to dig and place it at least 3-4 inches UNDER the turf. I placed mine about 1 inch beyond the end of their tunnels and then spaced them 3-6' apart creating a border for my front lawn. Literally after I put these out, not a single new tunnel since, and it's been 4 days. Much better than a $300 grub treatment.

Easy to use and place into the mole or vole burrow tunnels. I spaced as recommended and they were gone within a couple of weeks to a month. I did hear the neighbors complain later of a mole problem. Oops?

These things don't work. I followed instructions and the next day the gopher had pushed the balls up and out of the tunnels. WOW won't by these again 😭
