These clips do exactly what you need them to do if you are trying to use led retrofits. They come with self tapping Phillips. Do yourself a favor and purchase hex head self tappers, you can use a magnetic bit in and 90 degree drill to install. The Phillips are impossible to get started. I installed these in 36 cans, it took me 3 hrs.

These worked perfect for my retrofit recesses lights I put in these can lights. They are quite thin but they are strong enough to hold the strong springs on my retrofit led lights. I put mine about 3 inches in from the sheet rock. I used a 90° attachment on my drill to put them in.

I have older recessed cans in many areas of my house. They didn't have any clips in them. Making impossible to retro fit with newer LED kits. I found these and it solved that problem.

Easy to install. While the screws are very small, they seem to be holding good. I haven't removed any light more than once or twice, but they held up okay.

It's great to have something to use to be able to use a led insert on tapered inside can lights. Just use the self tapping screws to mount these clips and you have a location for the retainer springs to be held. Just use a compact drill to install. Great idea!

These clips were exactly what I needed for installing spring-loaded retrofit LED lights in my old smooth-sided cans. It took a couple of tries to determine the best positioning of the clips in the cans and the best tools for accomplishing the installation. It was also awkward to access the cans in the ceiling. Once I figured things out, it was better. Glad I found these clips. Would have been way more expensive to replace the old cans with new fixtures.
