Hear me out, I've tried multiple head unit's for my 2013 FRS and let me tell you, this one surpasses each one of them.Of course, I can't say whether this is better than the 300-700$ ones, but among the ones of the same price or lower, this one is definitely worth every cent. Not only it includes a super detailed manual, but also different variety of mounting and cables depending on your car model.Note that you'd most likely still need to get a harness for the cables, since every car is different. My personal only issue with it was to install it in my original brackets, because this display is bigger than my original one, so keep in mind that you'd have to DIY a bit if your original head unit display is smaller.

Upgrading to the A5L 9 inch Android Car Stereo from my previous 7-inch model from the same brand has been a fantastic experience. The installation was a breeze since the connectors and pin configuration were identical, making it super convenient. I didn’t have to worry about compatibility issues, which saved me time and effort. From the moment I turned it on, I was impressed by the vibrant 9-inch touchscreen, which makes everything from navigation to streaming music much more enjoyable. The system supports both wired and wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing me to easily connect my phone and use Siri or Google Assistant for hands-free control. The sound quality is incredible—thanks to the built-in audio customization, I can adjust it to my liking for a personalized experience on the road. The rear-view camera is a great addition, offering a clear view and making parking safer with its parking guidelines. One of my favorite features is DriveChat, powered by ChatGPT, which adds a fun and interactive element to my drives. The Bluetooth connectivity also ensures that I can stream music while staying connected to other devices. Overall, the A5L has made my driving experience smarter, safer, and more enjoyable, and I’m glad I upgraded to this new model.

This unit is my 4th ATOTO. I purchased it for my wifes SUV.If you are looking to bring an older vehicle up to tech standards of today, and do it for cheap, this unit is one to look hard at. It has all the standard features youd expect out of a non-android stereo in this price range and adds all the things you are looking to upgrade for . . . wireless carplay/android auto, included backup camera, etc.The large screen is nicer on these androids to make resolution of many apps easier to navigate. The screen and buttons are very responsive, and the apps dont lag at all. Wireless CarPlay works with a single app touch after the initial setup and always works as it should. At this price range, you can't really ask for much more. This unit has the new OS that their higher end units are now running, which is a welcome addition. Sound quality is much better on these newer units. The screen adjustment on this unit is minimal, so if you have an oddly shaped dash, you need to take that into consideration. It wasnt an issue for my install, but i could see it becoming one if someone wasnt properly planning for such a large screen/stereo installation. The mounting depth of this head unit inside the dash is very shallow so this helps comonsate for the lack of adjustability.Only downsides i found were the Mono-Subwoofer Output and minimal screen tilt/position adjustments. However, I kept the rating at 5-stars becuase of the value and features that you do get at such a low cost.

Like the unit. Good rear camera and so far Android auto works well through Zlink. Even able to make it look like it came with my 2013 Innova!

I've taken my time with testing as I've been running this unit for over 30 days, and I've got to say I am torn. I love my old 7" Android head unit that has more ram, but once I installed this 9" inch floating screen I don't think I can go back. It's amazing and very responsive. Because it is larger I don't have to focus as much when I reach out to tap the screen. With my 7" I had to take a bit of focus off the road to hit the precise spot on the screen as it was recessed into my dash. This one is larger and closer to you so it's more forgiving. I love the row of controls at the bottom as well and that you can find tune the colour to match your interior dash lights. it's really impressive when friends hop into my car.The interface and GUI are pretty well thought out and the radio and steering wheel controls were easy to configure. The DSP settings were also pretty robust so i did not add an hardware AMP to my set up, but have previously upgraded my stock speakers. The back up camera is great on the 9 in display and pops up almost instantly. Even though it comes with ATOTO's lowest tier camera, it's still really good. On some other brands/models in this price range or higher you are expected to purchase it separately. It is running Android 10, which is old, but I use mostly Android Auto via the Zlink App, so it runs like a closed unit. I'm not as worried about security updates. Speaking of updates, for an ATOTO unit it's pretty painless as they are handled over the air (OTA). I've heard stories of older units where you would need to take pictures and upload it to their website, and a whole process. Where as for this unit you simply connect to your hotspot and check for updates. It might sound minor, but the most important feature for me is that the Navigation volume and voice quality in Google Maps within Android Auto via the Zlink app is crystal clear! My older unit for some reason, even with updates would sound like a scratchy robot. I have had no issues with Google Assistant or Navigation with this at all, which is kind of why I'm hard pressed to swap this out.I give it 4 stars because of 2 minor issues, ever so often I've experienced my music can skipping. I find myself having to swipe down from the top of the screen to hit restart to correct it. I have not figured out what can be causing this, but I suspect it's due to only 2GB of ram which is odd as all other audio like assistant/navigation sound fine. It really only happens 1 our of 20 times, but when it does it's annoying. The ZLINK app switches to night mode easily once I turn on my lights, but I have not figured out how to set the Android menus to Dark mode. So small GUI functions like the volume bar will appear bright at night. Lastly, while the IPS display has great viewing angles, looks great, and handles glare well, for a brief period in the evenings when the sun is setting you can't really see all the details in Google Maps dark mode. I'm not sure if that's an IPS issue or something that can be fixed in the Zlink app. Once you try another ATOTO unit with an QLED display, it's hard to not want QLED in 9in.Despite those minor issues I still strongly recommend this unit in 9in as it's a huge upgrade for an older car. If I could get this form factor with 4GB of ram and a slightly faster processor and Android 13 I would take it in an instant. Tip: even though I have not experienced any issues, you should install the GPD module sitting on your dash, instead of how I stuck it to the mirror.

I have installed and used several Atoto F7XE head units and always found them to be very affordable but extremely high quality and loaded with high end features. When I needed a head unit for my 1937 Ford street rod I naturally looked for the latest from Atoto. I purchased the A5L with the 9" screen for this installation. The A5L is loaded with features that you would only expect on units costing many times more. Wireless Android auto and Car play, beautiful 9" display with WiFi and Bluetooth to connect to the internet. It uses Android op system and functions just like another smart phone but without the extra mobile phone bill. Excellent built in 4 channel amp plus all the RCA outputs to hook to a separate amp and sub woofer if you prefer. It also supports a HD backup camera and steering wheel controls with the proper adapter. All of this in a very compact short chassis that makes it a breeze to install. Once again Atoto knocks it out of the park.

This touchscreen is awesome for my car. It has a lot of modern features for a car upgrade, especially when comparing it to my car's old radio. This one has an impressive 9-inch IPS screen; it is clear and vibrant, making it easy to see what I am doing and where I am going. I like that it supports both wired and wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, which makes navigation, calls, and music streaming easier. The 24-band EQ and built-in amplifier let's me fine-tune my audio, which is nice as a music lover. There is also this DriveChat app, which is interesting; it is AI-powered driving advice, but to be honest, I didn’t find it super useful. The Bluetooth features are flexible, letting you connect multiple devices at once, but setting up everything took some time. Overall, this stereo has a lot to offer, especially if you want your car to be a lot more modern, though it did feel overwhelming at first.

A already had the Atoto A6PF head unit and loved it. I bought the DVR cam, Front cam, rear cam, OBD Torque accessory, and the tire pressure monitoring system. So many things you can add onto these units. But, with my old eyes there were many times I needed my glasses to do things, so this 9" screen is perfect. This brought a lot of extra pop to my Miata. It fit perfectly in place without blocking anything. The best part of the upgrade was that all the connections were the same, so it was essentially a plug and play upgrade from my other Atoto unit to this one. I was actually considering something else that had the bigger processor and RAM, but everything I have done with this is perfectly fast and smooth, swiping is smooth, video is smooth, everything loads quick enough. So even though it is the "lite" version, everything runs perfect and it still has all the bells and whistles available to add on. One of the best parts about this is that it is instant start, no loading, no android screen, nothing. You start the car and it is on, instantly. The only thing I lost was the front cam function. I have it plugged into the video input, so I can still use it, but it does not automatically switch from the rear camera to the front camera when going from reverse to drive. Not a big deal as the front camera was not much of a help when doing that driving, though I wish it had the option to use the video aux input as aux or front cam. Another great upgrade for me is all the different audio volume options that this unit has, ring volume adjustment, nav voice volume and to mix it with the music. Speaking of music, which is the main purpose of a head unit, it is excellent. I was impressed with the last one and this also does not disappoint. Whatever manufactures say about amperage is always overstated crap. This unit has more than enough power. If I were to crank it all the way up, I would be doing some damage, not only to my ears, but also the speakers. It really rocks. It has many different adjustments for the sound, a crazy large EQ, time delays, and of course the usual balance stuff. Everyone was so impressed with the old unit that I had four other people buy it and they all say how happy they are that I showed it to them. Now I am sure some will pull the trigger and upgrade as well since it is so simple. The original install was your typical head unit install which is not as easy as plug and play, but with the right car adapter, its not that bad. All those custom made units, I know I bought one for my wife's Toyota, are crap. I wish I had done an Atoto in her car and I will probably have to as she asks me every time she is in my car, when can I get one of these? Some company makes them and some other company buys and sells them and puts some garbage android skin on them. It sucks. Atoto does their own thing very well. They seem to have their own software development with very nice periodic updates. If there is something easily tweaked in the software and you suggest it, you'll probably see it in the next update. Good luck with any kind of updates with another generic android unit. I think the main thing most people do, is use it with Android auto or Carplay. I have Android and it has connected wirelessly and flawlessly every time. You can have it auto connect, or select to connect, which is very nice choice. I don't always want Android auto to launch once it connects, but if you do it will do it quickly when you start the car. I think it is around 15 seconds after you start the car until until Android auto connects and takes over the screen. What else can I say to help you decide. Sure you can buy a major name unit, but your paying a lot more for the name and you are getting less functions and no add-ons. It's a great unit from a great company and it does everything they say it does. What else can you ask for?

This is a great upgrade. The system runs smoothly with its Android OS, 4-core processor, and plenty of storage, allowing me to easily download and use apps like Hulu and Spotify. Connectivity is seamless too, with options for Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth tethering, and even USB tethering to power my phone when needed. One of my favorite features is the wireless support for both CarPlay and Android Auto. It’s great being able to use Siri or Google Assistant for navigation, music, and calls directly from the dashboard. The 9-inch IPS display is crystal clear with vibrant colors and wide viewing angles, making it perfect for apps and phone mirroring. Plus, Bluetooth connectivity is excellent, allowing me to connect to both my phone and other Bluetooth devices like a diagnostic scanner without issues.Sound quality is another highlight, thanks to the built-in amplifier and 24-band EQ with various presets. I can easily adjust the sound to my liking, whether I'm listening to music or using voice assistants.I highly recommend!
