There are a few places around the house where getting power to a camera is difficult. These cords have been a great solution. Thirty feet is long - really long as far as USB cords go. When add the original like that comes with the camera at the end of this, the total distance is nearly 36' feet. I didn't notice and drop in power or performance of the camera, but I also wouldn't extend the cable any further since it's only 5v going through it. The flat design means these lay out nicely, and the covering is substantial enough that using them outside hasn't been an issue (so far). The ends aren't waterproof but they fit well enough to keep moisture and dust out.

These work as they should, just wish they were somewhat shorter. I'm using them for my video games and needed some length, just not really 30 feet. Overall, a good cable, I have had no issues with it.

The product images undersell the length a bit. 30 feet is a lot of USB cable. The insulation jacket is very flexible (some kind of silicone?) and is easy to route and hide, because it’s a flat cable.The wire resistance is a bit of a problem. Most cameras come with a 5V1A power supply, though I can’t find actual power consumption specs. I tested it with a bench power supply and dummy load and found that, with 1 amp of current, the cable dropped 1.25 volts (5V → 3.75V) which is pretty significant. Many devices that take 5V actually run at 3.3V internally anyway, so it’ll *probably* still work, but I would not be surprised if this caused problems with cameras that have spotlights or IR emitters for night vision and consume more power.Since this is a data-only cable, it’s also not possible for a device to request more voltage from a power supply, since they cannot communicate with each other. You’re stuck with 5 volts supply, which will drop to 3.75 volts at 1 amp and 2.5 volts at 2 amps. It worked with the cameras I tested, but they are indoor cameras which don’t have any illumination built-in, so they consume less power.Since the voltage drop is significant enough that it might cause problems with your devices, I can’t give this cable a particularly glowing review. If it used thicker wire with less resistance, or connected the data lines, it would be more reliable, but more expensive as well.

I ordered this 2-Pack 30ft Power Extension Cable to use with various Wyze cameras.If I have one criticism of many security cameras it is that they come with power cables that are too short. This is especially true of cameras that are designed to be used outdoors. All too often, the power source is too far away from the camera for the OEM cable to reach. These extension cables solve that problem by allowing you to extend by an additional 30 feet.Although the listing mentions specific cameras that the cables will work with, the truth is that they can be used for any camera that has a cable terminated in a USB-A male plug. That's because one end of these cables is terminated in a USB-A male plug and the other is terminated with a USB-A female jack. Though the connection will not be weatherproof, you can always wrap the connection or use some healshrink tubing to cover it. These cables also come with a supply of cable clamps so your installation will be neat.
