I ordered these for one of my woodworking projects on which I wanted some pieces securely--but not permanently--attached. And these did just what I wanted. Both the bolts and the inserts are of high quality and work exactly as intended.

I’m fixing up my old powerboat and these screws and screw-in “nuts” come in handy. Where I need to put in a screw, I drill the right-size hole for the insert – enough room for it to go in without it splitting the fiberglass or wood, but not so big the threads won't carve their own grooves – then I screw it into place. The provided black stainless screws with washers go into these.In this way, I can add a fixed screw/bolt without having to get below the hole through the gunwale or wherever, which can be difficult or impossible to achieve in some places. This lets me do everything from the outside.
