Details

Where it Goes:

36 inch DEEP DRIP Watering Stakes are designed to efficiently and effectively water your large, established trees and palms directly at the roots.

Three or more stakes per plant is recommended

Place 3 or more stakes 4-5 ft. apart within the tree’s canopy, avoiding the root ball. The larger the tree, the more stakes you will need.

How it Works:

DEEP DRIP waters, fertilizes, and aerates directly at the roots, conserving up to 50% of your outdoor water use by preventing wasteful run off, evaporation, and excess surface watering.

The specially engineered cap is UV-protected and designed for hammering into the ground with a three to five pound sledgehammer.

Deep Drip Stakes: Deep Waters Roots, Works with Every Plant, Conserves Water, Delivers Nutrients

Get in the Ground

Get in The Ground

  1. Hammer the top of your stake’s cap and drive it into the ground, using a three to five pound sledgehammer. Continue to hammer until the stake is buried and leave the shaft’s top hole exposed. Don’t strike at an angle or with a drip line connected or hammer an uncapped stake.
  2. If you have dense, tough, hard, or compacted soil; pre-soak the planting area and/or use a soil softener to soften the ground before installation. Once the area is well-saturated, hammer your DEEP DRIP Stake into the ground as far as it will go (with stake cap on)
  3. Take the cap off and run water directly into the stake to start softening the soil from below. Repeat the process until you have driven the stake all the way into the ground, leaving the stake’s top hole exposed. Repeat the process until you have driven the stake all the way into the ground, leaving the stake’s top hole exposed
  4. You can also use a 1.25 inch auger bit to pre-drill a hole where you wish to place the stake for even easier installation

Using a Drip Line

Using a Drip Line

  1. Once driven in the ground, remove your stake's cap
  2. Insert the end of your ¼” drip line down into the stake, with the adjustable emitter head sitting halfway between the shaft’s first and second holes
  3. Place the stake’s caps back over the shaft, securing the drip-line in place with the caps slotted drip line hole
  4. As water enters the stake through the drip line, it will deliver water deep underground to the plant’s feeder roots
    1. Ask your local nursery professional for recommendations on watering levels, times, and refill rates specific to your plant’s needs – the more DEEP DRIP Stakes around your plant, the lower the flow and watering time needed

Using a Hose

Using a Hose

  1. Dig a well around your plant; larger plants will need a larger well and more stakes (follow the stake placement guide for instructions on how many stakes your plant will need)
  2. Inside the plant well, bury stakes, leaving the stake’s cap on and top hole just above ground.
  3. Place your hose on a slow, but steady flow within the well
  4. As the well fills up, water will flow into the top hole of your stake, watering deep down to your plant’s roots.
    1. Ask your local nursery professional for recommendations on watering levels, times, and refill rates specific to your plant’s needs.

Couldn’t get these in the ground, they are too long. Unless you have sand, you are going to have a really hard/ impossible time pounding three feet of plastic into the ground without it breaking. Couldn’t return them because I didn’t have a box to fit them and it would cost me. To Goodwill they went.

I have been adding these to help my trees survive the Texas heat. I added some perhaps two months ago to two trees I planted this spring that weren’t doing well. They went from half-dead to thriving. My chaste tree has noticeably grown and is flowering, and my tiny pomegranate tree has added at least a foot in height after barely growing at all since it was planted in early Spring.I have been adding more and more of these deep drip spikes to the trees, and recently ordered another set. I contacted the seller over a delivery issue and they were friendly and responsive and took care of the issue very quickly.I’d give the product and the company 6 stars, if I could.

I was pleasantly surprised with the high quality of these tree stakes. They are well made and very sturdy. I used a high pressure hose nozzle to create the hole so as to avoid cutting any of the tree's roots instead of trying to pound them into the ground. Here in central Florida the sand gets so dry in the winter that the water beads up and will not soak into the ground. So these watering stakes irrigate all the way down to the roots.

Wonderful product for a specific difficulty with watering certain trees and plants. When using the 2' stakes, they have overflown onto the ground .... a backfilled & hardpacked, subdivision home front and back yard. Slowing down the water input easily handled the difficulty.I didn't break any when hammering them into this hard backfilled small boulders ground ... though I did slowly soften the ground with water seeping from the hose ... and used some 'rebar' stakes to pound small hole to help ... had to move around some small boulders underground. It has been worth it!! When we moved in 3 years ago, some of the trees had areas that were dying. I easily saw the problem... and spoke with neighbors ... who had the same problems ... some cut down the trees (loosing the precious shade here in Nevada). Other neighbors paid landscapers to dig out and bury 3" PVC pipe with french drain holes, for using a hose to water. These posts work as advertised. If you have situations like ours, expect some extra work ... but they are effective with what they do.Would I reorder them ... I already have ... for some of the low bushes and certain flowering plants.
