Doesn't hold the rope like intended. It has a small groove in the middle of the teeth that makes the rope slide through.

These cam cleats are impressively good. They're sturdy and secure tightly, so there's no concern about them not holding up. However, I wouldn't recommend them for kayak use due to their mounting options, which I find aren't particularly kayak-friendly, unless drilling holes in your kayak isn't an issue for you. I have mounting rails in the ideal location for these cleats; I just need to figure out an effective way to attach them to the rail. Aside from the mounting challenge for kayakers, these cleats are excellent

These are good, light duty cam cleats at a great price for four of them. The cleats work well and I can confirm that the cams are made of aluminum. One of mine has a small scratch in the paint showing the silver metal underneath (see photo). The cams work well and they are tilted inward a bit to help the pull the rope inward. I was able to just fit the shank of a ½ inch drill bit inside the cams, so I would say ½ inch rope is the maximum for these.A couple of small negatives with these are that the machine screws that act as the axes for the cams and also as the mounting bolts are fairly short. They should be long enough to go through a fiberglass deck, but you’ll need longer screws for a thick er deck. Also, those screws are tilted a bit since the cams are tilted. So, when you mount the cleat on a flat deck the nuts on the bottom won’t be quite flush with the underside of the deck. You will want to add a washer or two under there to distribute the load for the nut, and those washers are not included. I am not reducing my rating for these negatives because these cleats are literally one quarter of the price of name brand cleats such as Ronstan or Harken, and the cheapest name-brand cleats don’t have aluminum cams either. These are excellent light-duty cam cleats if you need some good cam cleats at a price that’s much lower than the name-brand products

The cleats are ok considering that they are budget cleats. I am using them on 1/4 inch line. However I received three cleats instead of four cleats as advertised.
