These come cast but not assembled for use. Tip: break off the “post”, place it into the hole of the “jaws”, turn it so the outer slot is perpendicular then press the post into the jaws using a pair of channelocks pliers. You can’t assemble these just by hand.

I measured twice (actual several times) before buying and still got it wrong. These are shorter than I need for my "NeverCold' fridge covers. My fault, but picture is deceiving because -- upon receipt -- the part that twists in to secure the clip sticks out much further than it will once installed. (UPDATE: got my new ones .. better quality - thicker -- and the right size. Don't let cheap be your determining factor)
