Yes they are cheaply made tennis balls on a string but they serve their purpose and fun to hit around.

I just went through 2 balls and they are clearly made poorly with the seams completely visible which probably accounted for them breaking open and becoming completely useless in the space of a few hits. GARBAGE!!!! DON'T BUY!!!!

String is a little short and the balls do not last very long. However for a beginner who is just getting use to the rhythm the balls should last long enough. When the balls get flat I have taken to sewing the attachment piece onto regular tennis balls

The product is of inferior quality and could hardly practice for 30 min and the ball slits. All the four balls gone in 4 days. My earlier purchase included a base and 3 balls have lasted for reasonably good number of days. Since in need of only balls changed the supplier and repenting for doing so.
