I've owned numerous rice scoops and these were a good buy for the price. They are not like many bamboo paddles with a smooth stick free (limited stick free) surface. They are semi-smooth but still a little rough so for rice, they are not the best choice. I bought these for the purpose of using as a stir fry stirring spoon. It works great for this purpose on myy non stick pans. Also, since they are longer than the usual rice scoop, in my case, they are ideal for my use. I rated these specific for my purpose so if I were to buy these soley as a rice scoop/paddle, I would rate them differently.

These 4 Pcs Bamboo Non-Stick Rice Spoon Rice Paddle spoons are a very good deal for the money, but they are as rough as they can be, uneven and crooked! I only needed one, so it was not difficult to get a piece of fine grit sandpaper and give it a couple of passes until smooth. Now I am happy with it, the other three will stay in the drawer until needed.
