I ordered the Peovlvn 4 Piece White Light Diffusers to use with my LED point lights. I wanted to be able to provide some diffusion when using a 7" reflector. These fit my 7" reflectors nice and securely. There were two things I wanted to test out. First, I wanted to see how much light loss there would be when using one of these diffusers (commonly referred to as socks). Using a Sekonic light meter with my Amaran 200X-s, the light loss was about 1 1/2 stops with the diffuser on. That's about what I expected. Second, I wanted to see if the color would shift much. Whenever you use a modifier, there is typically a color shift. I was hoping the shift would be minimal. I was pleasantly surprised to see there was almost no white balance shift.In case anyone wonders how I tested the white balance shift, I don't own a color temperature meter so I went with a simple but not necessarily precise test. I set the video light at 3200° and put a 7" reflector on it. I used my Sekonic light meter to determine the exposure and took a photograph of a white balance target with my white balance set to 3200° on the camera. I then put the diffuser on and checked the exposure. I adjusted my camera settings to match the measured exposure (I didn't change the power of the LED because that would cause a white balance shift.) I took a photo of the white balance target. I then took the RAW images into Adobe Camera RAW and used the white balance dropper on the white part of the target. The color temperature on all the images came out to 3150° when I adjusted them using the dropper. It was remarkably consistent. The tint only shifted 1 point between images. I was really surprised at how little the diffuser affected the white balance and I'm very happy with these!

I used these on my normal 7 in reflectors and they were perfect for changing the color just enough. They are excellent for changing the color of a specific light spot.
