Most railings along outside patios have a requirement with insurance nowadays requiring them to be 42 inches or higher for safety reasons. Iām glad I started looking into this because this is the railing. I wanted to build, but I had already started with the 36 inch poles. These poles are very heavy duty and sturdy ones drilled in at the base and do not budge. They will last a very long time.

I'm still installing this system. The delay was caused by the necessity to install new hardwood floors in the living room where this cable railing systems is being installed. This particular post will be installed as a wall post. The holes are drilled to meet building safety codes for most areas to protect people and pets. The holes on this post are not angle-drilled like a stair post, but rather drilled exactly across from each other, and the posts are powder coated to a smooth satin finish. The black satin/matte finish is silky smooth free of any burrs or defects. This post comes with concrete anchors and lag bolts for installation on wood. Gyykzz also sends along wood and metal screws for handrail, a spacer, cover for the base plate, and grommets. The quality and concern for details makes Gyykzz a fantastic seller. I recommend Gyykzz's cable railing system

This is a high-quality, heavy-duty deck post. I ordered the 42" size but it is really only 41" tall. I don't know why they advertise this product at 42". It even says 41" in parentheses. The horizontal mounting plate on top is not welded and you have to screw that on top with included machine screws. But the plate is only 3/16" thick. In other words, with the plate the post is exactly 41 3/16" tall.Exact height notwithstanding, this is a really nice deck post that should last a lifetime! It has predrilled holes if you want to run steel cable through them and the kit includes black rubber washers for the cable. I just needed a single post for a small concrete front porch and I'm going to screw a 2" x 4" from the building to the deck post. I don't plan to use any steel cable. The kit includes 4 expansion bolts for anchors and lag bolts also. It even includes a super cheap crescent wrench to screw down the bolts although I would recommend you use a socket wrench instead. There is also a cover for the anchors bolts on the base.

We'll see how the finish on it lasts as I'm in a very very cold climate, but it has all the accessories you'd need (minus the wire and plugs) to get it installed cleanly. Looks really clean after install and the mounting bolt were definitely sufficient. I like that it has space on the top for a cross board to be installed for the top of the railing. I'd recommend bolting down wherever you have a cross beam from the deck to give it extra strength for when people inevitably lean on it.

These posts are sturdy and attractive, the holes are drilled accurately. The coating is smooth and consistent, and there are no sharp burrs. Comes with a variety of mounting hardware for various scenarios (wood, cement, etc), all of which seems high quality.

Post is pre-drilled for your cable and even comes with rubber grommets for the cable, two types of mounting hardware (concrete anchors and wood screws). All the hardware you need to install.
