Used these along some other hardware fittings (straight line connectors, elbow brackets, leveling feet, hanger bolts, T nuts, and wooden dowels) to build this. Each shelf is independently adjustable and so our the wooden dowels. I wanted something that would be adjustable, would be facing me so I could see the shoes (instead of the bottoms), didn't want to drill into the floor and ceiling, and needed it to be only maximum of 5.5" deep so that it would be flush with garage door opening. Came up with this (111" tall, 60" wide, each level is spaced about 12.5" apart; enough for my size 11 shoes). Can hold up to 48 pairs, but top two would be for infrequently used shoes since need stool to reach. Could store more possibly depending on shoe size and how close you want to adjust them to each other. For kids shoes (don't have any), you can add more dowels and place them closer. The only thing you can't store are boots and hightops since the depth is only 5.5".

I love the product so far. I do a lot of woodwork and sometimes I want to route a square in wood or pvc panels. I already purchased the 'L' shaped joint plates which when put together makes an adjustable square where the router can run along the inside edge while the bit cuts the material.
