I have a record player owner's manual that specifically says the needle cartridge is a UNIVERSAL unit, and these UNIVERSAL replacements exactly match what is installed in the record player. However, the record player owner’s manual only tells how to remove the RED needle tip. I could not figure out how to remove the whole cartridge (no instructions) and did not want to break anything. These replacement cartridges have a removable needle frame (the RED tip that contains the needle) that fit my record player’s cartridge, so I just replaced the RED needle tip. It worked perfectly. Note: The red tip needle has no electrical connection. The needle nests in a rubber/silicone (?) notch in the cartridge that translates the needle music vibrations into signals. The replacement needles come in a nice plastic case but there are no instructions that come with it (probably due to all the unique record player applications possible). Since the problem I had was not related to the replacement needle set, I grant 5-stars.Caution: Before purchasing, carefully compare your existing needle/cartridge to make sure it is a “Universal” unit that matches the product.

Most turntable heads I know mount the cartride with two screws, no way to do that with these.

I got a cheapy record player recently and wanted to have some extra needles/cartridges on hand. Neither these cartridges nor the player itself gives me full directions on replacement so you, like me, may need to check YouTube. The cartridges come with instructions for getting the needle ready for the player but not how to remove the old one and put the new one in. Anyway, was able to find out and now have more than a I need for a good price.

Had a hard time getting a replacement needle for my older player. I took a chance but it worked beautifully. The description may be a little better for people who are not so familiar with fixing their own equipment.
