I own a couple of old Jeep Cherokees (XJ) and they have suffered from the typical vacuum system issues. The old 28 year old rubber vacuum hoses harden and crack. This kit supplies you with an adequate amount of silicone lifetime hose so you'll be able to rule out any hoses issues for future diagnosing.

These hoses seem absolutely fine to me. So what if other hoses are matte and not shiny. Here in the desert they will be matte finish in a couple of days anyway. The hoses are rated for extreme temperatures: -40F to 428F. I think that's going to cover it. And if they don't I'll be the first to find out as it can be 120F for weeks on end up here and it gets below freezing in the winter. I of course am more concerned with what happens to the rubber in the heat and 428F will never be reached even if I have them laying on the engine block. And unlike others I go ahead and trust what the manufacturers claim until proven wrong unless it seems too impossible. It is not hard for me to believe that these hoses can last a long time. Can you find better ones? I'm sure you can but that doesn't mean these are not good. These ones are not expensive and they are strong and blemish-free. I do not see any misconfigurations or defects. The sizes are right and they have a high internal pressure rating at 100 psi at operating temperature. They are supple and flexible and I have no reason to think these can not last a decade or two. But also there is no pretty label, they come in a plain brown box wrapped in clear plastic. So if you want a nice box and a pretty little picture on the front then these hoses are not for you.

I don't feel like these shiny silicone hoses will hold up well over time under the engine bay when exposed to different chemicals, extreme heat and general aging. Never mind the cosmetic appearance. They are however decent hoses and probably can find other useful ways to use them. It's a good overall kit as far as variety goes, just feel like it misses it's mark for automotive uses here.

This vacuum hose is very flexible and makes tight bends without Kicking. Seals tight to without leaking. A good value.

These hoses have a very glossy black finish and won't look like anything else in your engine bay unless you've replaced other hoses with silicone. You get a lot of hose in this kit so it seems like a decent value. My real gripe is the thickness and these are so very, very thick for their respective inside diameters. At least the smaller ones are. If your hose needs to run through any grommets or plug into a nipple with external restrictions you're going to have trouble.Vacuum hoses I see daily from automobile manufacturers are made from some form of rubber. They're much thinner and flat black in color, dark gray even. These are super shiny, reflective and jet black. I'll find a use for these but I probably won't use them in customer's cars. They look and feel on the cheap side to me.
