Lesson learned. Cheaper is not better.

I thought they looked cute but when I filled it up and tried to get an actual flame it didn’t work. It does make a spark but didn’t keep a flame like in the pictures. Also lit up the stick with a regular lighter to see if maybe I could just use the sticks in they’re own but instead of just the end lighting up it was the entire rod and the end where I was holding it (I was trying to light up my candle so it was just a few seconds) burned my fingers. NOT SAFE or convenient at all.☹️

As said, they are working ok, although cannot said the same about durability, cheap, low quality, guess is what you pay for.

These are better than a zippo~! My only beef with Zippo is that fluid evaps from the lighters over time... due to heat etc. These are less prone to evap since there is an "O" ring where the match screws into the unit. Also help keep it dry. had mine in my yak... swamped, for hours, pulled it out and it lit on the first try. For the price you can hardly go wrong... got a light?

I bought a different permanent match because I thought it was just a novel thing to have, also thought it could have been better made. Then I looked around and saw that this brand had decent reviews, I'm convinced they're all written by people trying to promote it. 1st thing, the "stainless steel" is a paper thin 3/4 wrap that will slice your finger because its loose, it's poorly installed and after removing the match from the fluid housing, the excess fluid eats the glue so after a few strikes that falls off, leaving a cheap black plastic box. 2ndly, there's a spring loaded plunger that I believe is supposed to help push the match out after its unscrewed, but the wick gets stuck in the spring and removes the flint striker and the wick from the match itself, 3rdly, the ring that attaches the clasp to the matchbox will separate under the slightest pressure, should it get hung up in your pocket whilst trying to remove your keys, POP, it's now broken. I bought the 5 pack thinking maybe to give a few out to the guys at work, but I got them yesterday and there's only 1 left that's not broken, because I haven't unscrewed it yet, as soon as I do, the 1, 2, 3 strikes its out countdown begins. 4 matches all behaved the same way, so it's doubtful that the 1 match left will break the record of 4 strikes before 1 or all of the mentioned problems take it out. I would be insulted if someone gave me this as a gift, it's so cheap some don't even get fluid because they break when you unscrew it. Save your money, if you still want a permanent match, a good 1 that will work when you need it to costs more than $1 a piece
