Ive caught more trout than most people. I use this size hook when bait fishing and they held up. I use several because I cut the hook off for catch and release. Price is awesome over brick and mortar competition.

If you intend to keep the trout you catch, these hooks are great when used with powerbait. However, the fish will most likely die when you remove the hook, since they tend to swallow the tiny hook. Therefore, don't use this hook if you intend to catch-and-release.

Overall the hooks are exactly what they say. I usually buy smaller hooks for trout fishing, but these were for a scouting trip and for a kids fishing weekend these were an okay size. The issue is some of the hooks were missing parts of the treble right out of the package. It was not a lot of the hooks, but enough I noticed.

Some of the #16 trebles we're out of whack. Nothing a pair of pliers can't fix.
