We mounted this above the garage so it was pretty exposed in the last storm. Neighbors lost trees, garbage cans moved, and the basketball hoop stayed put and in tact! I know some of that was the setup, but that backboard took a hammering and still looks new!

I didn't use the instructions so it took me a little longer than it should but it fit on my 20 year old Lifetime system. Rim is smaller and weaker than the original and the net was crap. I got a better net but the board works out just fine and looks super.

Well, it’s affordable and my son loves it. I do not see it living up to its brand name though. The backboard’s mounting points are not reinforced- just hollow plastic. So you’re basically threading screws into thin blow-molded plastic. It’s like putting a screw through a corrugated plastic yard sign and expecting it to hold up to repeated bludgeoning. It would’ve gone a long way to reinforce these mounting points, or use through-bolts. I do t think that would’ve added much to the cost of manufacture. It’s pretty flimsy, and doesn’t have very satisfying rebound. Makes a noise like a bass drum when the ball hits it. It hasn’t failed yet, we just installed it a week ago, so we’ll see. I just have a strong feeling that I’ll be re-engineering and reinforcing this in the near future. It’s ok for now, the hoop is heavy steel and seems sturdy, but I really don’t see the backboard lasting a “lifetime”.

Cheap cheap cheap. Hollow plastic frame, thinest plexiglass ever. This thing is worthless. 0 startsBuy something else.

So far we haven't had any trouble with this. It was a pain to put up because it is heavy. But everything on it works well.

Good backboard with hoop. It's not as good as a glass backboard because it does flex a little when the ball impacts it but it's also hundreds of dollars cheaper and my kids don't see the difference. Relatively easy to install and good instructions. All parts were there and the box arrived in good shape. My last Lifetime backboard and hoop lasted 10+ years. This was a replacement and upgrade from the other one. Would buy again!

From the description and pictures furnished, I understood it to be a 2" thick solid backboard. It has a 2" frame, but the rest of the back board is very thin and transparent. The kit was also missing some of the key mounting hardware. Once I saw how flimsy the set up was I reinforced my pole with a steel plate to help brace the board. We will see how it performs, but I would not recommend it for high school or adult application.

We replaced our backboard to our existing Lifetime goal. We did not need the universal bracket. We used the existing bracket. easy to assemble. Great product as expected from Lifetime.
