Turbo Wastegate Control Solenoid is an important component for turbo engine that protects the engine and turbine. It can release high pressure air generated during inertia operation of the turbine, to prevent turbine blades or throttle from being damaged by impact.
When high-pressure air in the intake pipe cannot be removed in time, the pressure in the intake pipe will rise rapidly, and the acceleration will be delayed or be unsatisfactory. What's worse is that the throttle may be damaged or the intake pipe may burst.
Turbo Wastegate Control Solenoid is a valve mounted on the intake pipe to control the boost pressure.
Here is a brief instruction for replacemnt:
Disconnect the wire first.
Use flat head screwdriver to remove the air intake pipe.
Take off the old Turbo Wastegate Solenoid by hand or pipe wrench.
Assemly the new part tightly(counterclockwise direction).
Screw back the air intake pipe and connect the wire back.

Have about 500 miles on this, when I installed a new turbo I decided to just put a new solenoid on too. Looks and functions like a factory Cummins part at a fraction of the cost. I am running a stealth turbo that makes about 38psi with tune and no issues so far.

I was somewhat skeptical of this solenoid as it was literally a fraction of the cost of one at the local parts store. It installed with no issues and has kept the check engine off .
