Worked as intended, the tread are clean and easy to hand tighten w / Machine screw.Inserts treads are shard and easily cut through the wood.

I use a lot of wood inserts on projects – like tables – where it just makes attaching the leg sections so much easier. Not much to say about these babies, they're carbon steel with nicely formed threads. Use a 3/8” bit for your hole (along with a slight chamfer so the insert's lip will seat flush) and then take your time driving it home to ensure a straight fit. If you do any sort of woodwork, you should have a package of these sitting alongside your screws & nails.

It a kit inside a plastic case. It come with the tool to screw it in, but it just doesn't come with the tool to drill the pilot hole.I think it a good price for a kit like this !

I used these to level two shelves in my pantry. The threads inside fit the bolt perfectly. The threads on the outside hold the wood perfectly.

This hardware item was critical in a DIY project. Eleven threaded inserts were screwed into a fire resistent wooden frame to which was attached a metal mesh cage. Then 3/8-inch bolts were threaded through the inserts until they butted up against three chimney flues, which were nonuniform in both size and spacing.The ensemble was thus held firmly in place. The resultant project was a pest guard for the chimney that no raccoon, squirrel, or other critter will ever penetrate, and that even a hurricane will not dislodge.
