Replacement Battery for EGO 56V Battery 5.0 Ah, Compatible with EGO Power + 56 Volt Tools Leaf Blower Lawn Mower Chainsaw String Trimmer Battery BA2800T BA2800 BA1400T BA1400 BA4200T BA5600TWe own a good number of EGO power tools that use their 56V battery which is the most expensive part of owning and maintaining the tool. So it was really nice to find the SAPBJ 5.0 Ah EGO 56V Replacement Battery for sale on Amazon at a very reasonable price! The 5.0 Ah battery is a great fit with out EGO chainsaw and backpack blower. It also works great with our other EGO tools but is a bit heavy compared to the 2.0 and 2.5 Ah batteries. So far the SAPBJ Replacement Battery is working quite well for us. It charges just fine with our EGO chargers and it seems to last just as long as the EGO OEM 5.0 Ah battery pack.

There is no display to show the percentage of charge on this battery. My 7-year-old Ego OEM BA1400T 2.5Ah blower battery is beginning to malfunction. Before ordering this new battery, I quickly checked the current price of an OEM battery, which starts at about $95 and goes up. I was shocked to find that Lowe's was selling an EGO 5Ah battery for $299! To me, that price is outrageous for just a battery. When I ordered this battery, I didn’t know or care if it would last as long as the OEM 5Ah. I just felt that if it fit, charged, and worked as long as my OEM 2.5Ah did, then that would be good enough for me. Unfortunately, I was wrong. The lack of an integrated fuel gauge is a significant drawback for me.This battery does not provide any way to show the percentage of charge; it only has a single solid green light that flashes while charging. When I opened it, the light was solid green, but I had no way of knowing how charged it was. I placed it on the standard OEM charger, and it stopped charging in about 70 minutes, at which point the light went out.Additionally, this battery is larger and heavier at over 4 lbs compared to my OEM 2.5Ah, which weighs 2.87 lbs. This weight difference is understandable since they are claiming it is 5Ah, and the case does feel substantial. However, I’m really disappointed about the absence of a fuel gauge.I have several aftermarket batteries for other popular name-brand tools, and all of them feature a gauge to indicate the percentage of charge remaining. Even my less expensive off-brand battery tools have percentage bars on the batteries or the tools themselves.Honestly, had I known that this battery lacked this vital feature, I would have chosen a different one that included it.

I have an Ego Model ST1521S String Trimmer, Ego 2.5 Ah battery BA1400 and Ego Charger CH2100.I ordered this SAPBJ 5.0 Ah battery as a backup to the 2.5 Ah battery that came with my string trimmer so that I will not run out of battery power before I am finished with my lawn but mostly for use with an Ego leaf blower that I plan to purchase in the fall to replace my gas-powered leaf blower. I know that the Ego leaf blowers are hard on battery life so the extra 5.0 Ah battery will be necessary for my lawn due to the number of trees in my neighborhood. In testing for use, the SAPBJ battery installs on my trimmer the same as the OEM model and charges without issue on my OEM charger. I see no difference in operation between this brand and OEM Ego batteries.Currently an Ego 5.0 Ah Battery, model BA2800T, is listed online at major home improvement stores for $299.00. (It should be noted that the BA2800T has a fuel gage indicator to show remaining battery life and the SAPBJ battery does not) The cost of the SAPBJ battery is currently $89.99 with an additional $10.00 off coupon on Amazon. To me it’s a no brainer to get this battery if you are using the 56V platform Ego brand power tools. I just don’t understand why purchasing an extra Ego battery alone will cost more than the original tool with a battery. It’s still winter where I live so my review is based on powering my string trimmer up with the SAPBJ battery, running the trimmer nonstop to deplete the battery and then charging it on the Ego charger. I cannot comment on how the battery will function after repeated use and charge cycles. That will take a couple of seasons of use to accurately report on and because this is a new offering, nobody knows its long-term quality. SAPBJ does claim no memory effect and 1000+ charging cycles but that remains to be proven.I have included pictures that show the front and top views of both batteries shown side by side and individual pictures of each battery on the charger. The SAPBJ replacement battery is larger due to the bigger Amp Hour rating. As an added note: both batteries are made in China.Due to the price, I see no downside to ordering this battery. It works like OEM, yet it cost about 1/4 of the price.

I've got both an ego mower and chainsaw and once you start using this type equipment, you realize more is good. The mower was already covered for battery power to finish my lawn in one battery change. However, when you're processing a tree, batteries can become an issue,I dropped a 60 or so foot Ash that had been killed by those emerald ash beetles last year. It was in my front yard (I live in the woods) and I wanted to get it down before it was dangerous to work on.Between downing it and cutting it into rounds, I was running through my entire collection of batteries. I could have used one of my gas chainsaws but I was determined to go all electric and was so close. I'm hoping this one goves me enough to get through a big project without having to wait for recharging.Only time will tell if this battery gets me there but it certainly won't hurt.
