One of our dogs has long fur which sometimes develops some small matts even though we keep it brushed. Occasionally, a matt can't be brushed out and has to be removed. These de-knotting and grooming tools allow me to safely remove those matts. There are 5 semi-oval shaped tools measuring 3 inches wide by 2.75 inches tall, and 1 hook shaped tool which is 3 7/8 inches tall. Plastic surrounds the sharp part so that it can remove a piece of matted fur without impacting the dog's skin or my fingers. The tools are easy to hold and use even when he's squirming! It's nice to know I can do a better job grooming our dog and keeping him comfortable.

This grooming tool gets the job done, but it’s not perfect. It’s nice that it comes with five tools, so you can switch them out when one starts to wear down. I also found it handy as a letter opener, which is a cool bonus, but the overall performance for grooming could be better compared to other types of tools.
