These emergency exit lights are lightweight and very bright. They were easy to install and test. I didn’t run into any problems with these lights staying on when the power is on. The only thing that’s left to test is how long these lights will last. I’ve purchased branded emergency lights in the past where the batteries lasted around 10 years so only time will tell how long the batteries in these lights will work for.

The box was undamaged but the unit arrived broken. I couldn't get it back together so I did not install it.Otherwise it seems like an OK unit in general.

Firstly, the reference in the instructions of the need to disassemble and connect the battery are all too easily missed... the instructions could benefit from making this point more visibly prominent rather than the small reference diagram at the bottom of the page directing this action. So in looking back at the video, the connector is seen to already be disconnected when the lamp is disassembled. Once connected, battery power will be available, just like in the video. The lamp is bright enough when running under battery power, but I have not tested it for battery duration. Testing it with the push of a button is easily accessible, the (bright) charging light also pretty good. The lamp heads are independently adjustable, another good feature. So function of light output, adjust-ability, testing, etc. are OK. One concern is that the plastic may be fragile and break all too easily when handling. It is however the mounting this unit that is going to be a challenge. The backside of the rear panel has various marking for potential mounting to a device box... you will have to figure out which ones will fit your application and drill them out as appropriate. The markings seem to indicate make both holes and slots to slide over the screw heads, but not sure how practical that is going to be to carry out out. The plastic backing and retaining clips are flimsy, fragile even. So you're left to figure out how to mount this thing and then when you fit it together the electrical connector slots have to fit together to charge and give signal for light to turn off when charging. So the lamp had good adjustability and is bright. Duration of the battery is yet to be proven. Instructions are lacking, typical of an import product of this nature. Mounting is whatever you make it out to be and hope you can fit the pieces back together without breaking the plastic. If it were more durable with practical mounting, I'd give it a higher rating. My specific application is to install it to the exposed floor joist of the basement ceiling above my circuit breaker panel... when the power goes out it will hopefully light up that area well enough to be practical

The LED Emergency Lighting (ASIN B088WVMJTC) from EXITLUX came complete with instructions and all hardware necessary foy mounting, including Marrettes(TM). The fixture is made entirely of plastic, has a replaceable battery pack, is super light and a snap to install, and it supports residential 120V & commercial 277V installations and it is UL safety listed. So many fixtures sold through Amazon are not. Further, the LED lamps can be adjusted to point in pretty much any direction through a combination of sliding and rotating the lamps. I picked this up to hardwire into one of my interior stairwells in case of a power outage. Overall I am quite pleased with this unit, the only negative is that it is difficult to pop open; the triangular tabs are a nuisance to pry open.I hope you found this enlightening and/or helpful to your decision making.

I live in a one-bedroom apartment in an area where the power goes out sometimes several times a month. I got tired of fishing for a flashlight in the dark, so I bought these, and I absolutely love them! What is important to know before you buy them, is that where you decide to mount them, you need to have power at that exact location. What ended up working best for me, was mounting it in the hallway next to the smoke alarm, because the smoke alarm taps into 120.The first thing I did was kill power to those wires at the breaker box. Then, I took the wires that are powering the smoke alarm, took off the wire nuts, and using some 16 gauge braided wire that I had laying around, I stripped off a little shielding then added my wire to the wire nuts and screwed them back on so that I had a new pair of wires hanging from the ceiling. I also purchased some raceway to hide the wire which makes the installation more aesthetically pleasing. I ran the wire across the ceiling to the wall where I had the unit mounted. You have to connect the internal battery to the mainboard as they don't ship it connected as that would put unnecessary wear on the battery. But it's obvious where it goes since its connecter is literally a few millimeters away from the only empty socket that it plugs into. Then, I used the wire nuts that come with the lights and connected the 120 line (black) and common line (white) to those wires I added from the ceiling, then I tightened everything back up and flipped the breaker switch, and saw the red light turn on which told me that everything is working. The little red LED on this unit stays on all the time when it is receiving electricity (ie when everything is running normally). Now, when I have a power outage, these lights come on INSTANTLY and I am able to move around the apartment. The brightness of the lights is not overwhelming, but it lights up almost the entire apartment, and hey ... when the power is out, you take everything you can get and these provide PLENTY of light in that situation.I could not be happier with this purchase... it's a Godsend. I even installed the second unit in my neighbor's apartment who has small children and they love it! The girls use to scream when the power went out at night ... not anymore! LOL

Very light. Easy to install. After trying to open unit second time having difficulty with the snap lock tabs at the base ( hinge snaps at top side) push tabs on bottom side to remove the lighting unit from the wall mounting back plate completely. There is a slip on spade power connection that aligns itself when snapping on the lighting front portion to the wall mounting plate. Somehow I cannot get the bottom snap locks to release to slide the lighting unit off the wall plate. I am trying to be careful not to break the plastic connection tabs. Frustrated but other than that it was a great easy solution for loss of power emergency lights. I really like the great range of orientation the light heads can be swiveled to direct the light.
