Engineered to maximize output and clarity, Ernie Ball Cobalt Slinky Guitar Strings are the latest innovation in string technology. Seeking to provide guitarists and bassists with a new voice, Cobalt strings provide an extended dynamic range, incredible harmonic response, increased low end, and crisp, clear highs.
Cobalt provides a stronger magnetic relationship between pickups and strings than any other alloy previously available. Cobalt Slinkys are also soft and silky to the touch, making string bending a breeze.

If you aren't using cobalt strings, you aren't getting all the performance out of your pickups! You WILL hear the difference I assure you. Great price and you get a quantity that works.

I've been playing for iver 30 years. I've also had guitars stored for up to seven years and the EB cobalts sound pretty good pulled out of the case even after all those years. The only strings I will ever useNice bright and they don't Discolor ,with sweat and usage ,as easy as any other type of strings and I've tried about every major brand

Been buying Cobalt's since they came out. Great strings if the E, B, & G aren't rusty. Since I buy them in bulk it's hard to tell if the batch is good without opening them all up. Shouldn't have to do that. I have LaBella strings from the 80's that are still good with no rust. So far the first pack looks clean. It sucks to buy extra unwound strings from another manufacturer to make a set. The Cobalt wounds have a much longer life on stainless frets. I would not use them on nickel frets.

Ive been using slinky on my electrics for couple years now and decided to try these out in a 6 pack. Im pleasantly surprised and the subtle tone change as well they seem to last longer , keep better intonation and not die as soon as regular light slinkys.

I love these strings. They're all I've used, exclusively, for the past 3-4 years now. Bright, crisp, powerful, and really take a beating. I can't remember the last time I broke one... and my guitars all have floating Floyds that I abuse heavily. The only thing that takes some getting used to is that the wound strings have what I can only describe as a slight "gritty" feel to them. But seriously, it's very very subtle--and not something I even notice or think about anymore. It was just something I noticed when I first tried them years ago--a slightly different texture.

Though these strings are expensive their quality is unparalleled in terms of crunch, fullness & sustain... Highly recommend this seller as well as the strings arrived two days before expected!

I can't play anything else after playing these cobalt strings. Had to get an emergency pack of basic Ernie Ball nickel strings. They became corroded & dead almost overnight compared to the cobalt strings. While it may be a matter of preference to the sound of cobalt strings there is no denying that it has more sustain than other strings. The 6 pack makes them more affordable which is always good.
