How often should these be replaced? It depends on the chemicals and/or particles you breathe. We recommend replacing the filter cotton every 8 hours of

When to change the cotton?
8 hours protection is a reasonable expectation of each filter.
When the user feels that the breathing resistance is obviously too large, the human body feels uncomfortable, or the filter dust is dirty or damaged, the filter cotton needs to be replaced.

work very well for automotive spraying, as long as the carbon isn't fully clogged you can't smell anything.

Home Depot and Lowes only carried 3M version of this filter and x3 the cost. They look identical to the 3M version only they don't have the 3M sticker on them.

I ordered 2 packs of respirator filters and they arrived. Once I opened them and saw they were covered in a black soot, and black specs in the bottom of the pack I realized the charcoal filter had broken, so these aren't safe to use. I ordered replacements and they came in the same condition with black soot in the bag and broken. As someone who depends on these respirators to work for my safety it's a little alarming.

I'm not much of a reviewer but I am a serious tradesman and I bought these to use in my 3m 6000 series full face respirator while I was spraying finish in a house. I replaced my 3m filters with these and the first time I use them I had a long shot that I needed to stay in the house for and these were like I had a paper towel over each intake hole... All the chemicals built up inside my mask and burned my eyes and I started coughing, gasping for breath...zero stars
