6.6L DEF Heater/Diesel Exhaust Fluid Reservoir Heater Kit Compatible with 6.6L V8 2012-2016 Chevrolet Silverado/GMC Sierra 2500HD 3500HD Duramax LML LGH
The Diesel Exhaust Fluid Heater, commonly called the "DEF Heater", is located in the DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid / Urea) tank and actually contains the pickup tube for the reductant pump module, an electric heating element, a temperature sensor, a pressure sensor, and an electrode-type level sensor. It enables the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) to function at low temperatures.

All Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) systems require heating elements to prevent DEF fluid from freezing at temperatures less than 12 degrees Fahrenheit.
DEF Heating Pots are designed to quickly return DEF to liquid form, ensuring proper flow through the lines and pump unit. If your diesel vehicle is operating in limp mode, or is not operating at full power, a common culprit is a failed DEF heating element.

Worked fine for me, had this code which was stopping me from passing smog. Replaced it and drove it for a couple days.took it to the smog place and it passed no problem

This part was bad out of the box . You might as well bite the bullet and spend the extra money to get OEM part . Too much time and effort to deal with having to do it twice and spend even more money in the end!!! Ended up trying twice then went to dealer , third time was a charm, but spent $100 on DEF because I didn’t want to take a chance trying to make sure old def was clean.

Finally got around to installing this part and it failed diagnostics immediately. Almost fried my wire harness. No option for refund request so please contact me as I have a perfectly useless product to return. Would not recommend Dorman. Every Dorman part I just bought isn’t working in the truck brand new out of packages. Only the AC Delco and GM parts worked. Wiring harness is check and working fine. Dorman makes faulty cheap parts.

Very easy to install, all I used was a flat screw driver, pliers, 13mm socket, 6" ratchet extension a T40 and a 4mm allen wrench to remove the pump.
