Top of grinder broke off about 5 weeks after receiving/using. Therefore we can no longer refill the grinder so are unable to use. Terrible performance for the price.

i adore this pepper mill. it's a lot more expensive than any i'd normally buy but i don't mind paying the money if it's going to be a one off purchase that will last me for years, be a pleasure to use and look so elegant. To fill it, the top just pulls off and you put your peppercorns in, then push the top back in - it fits snugly enough that there's no danger of it coming off accidentally. You can change the coarseness of the grind by twisting the ceramic burr (correct term?) underneath. That's it. Super simple. The design is stunning, looks fantastic, works brilliantly and is lovely to handle. love it.

Nice aesthetically. Porcelain shattered in my hand at first attempted use. Be gentle while using, ceramic can unexpectedly bind with wood and break easily.

a little 'different', grinds pepper beautifully, and a good size for us. This was a real good pick.

I purchased the mills for both salt and pepper and they are gorgeous. They feel good in the hand, the grind size is easy to adjust and the pepper or salt is ground evenly no matter which size grind you choose. They are absolutely beautiful to look at and garner compliments every time we have someone over. The company has gone above and beyond to give me great service and be incredibly responsive, so you should have NO qualms about ordering these products for yourself. It's wonderful to have such beautifully made and functional objects for something that you use every day. Go ahead, treat yourself! You'll smile every time you see them on your table.

When it arrived I was shocked at how big it was! This was sort of a splurge for me, but I had some large coarse Hawaiian salt and some other coarse sea salt, and thought it would be cool to have a grinder for salt--And it is! I made a mixture of the different salts, but I was thinking it might be interesting to make a spice mix, like a seasoned salt. The wood has soaked in about 5 coats of olive oil so far.

Nice looking modern salt grinder i bought the pepper grinder in denmark, so bought this to match when I saw it on Amazon. Its handsome & has 2 different grind textures. Its substantial, but not too tall like some other salt/pepper grinders like the le creuset ones. The only drawback was the wood on this is lighter than the wood on my pepper mill so they don't match exactly. The other downside was there were little pieces of the wood coming off on the inside of the grinder where the salt goes (this didn't occur on my pepper grinder so assume it was just a little defective). I didn't want wood chips in my salt so after some maneuvering I was able to scrape them all off, just hope this doesn't continue to happen again with use as time goes by.
