What I like: These cups are much larger than the chicken cups I previously had, which is a good thing. The previous cups relied on the chicken tapping their beak against a little stem which released more water into the cup. These cups however have a spring feature that fills the cup then the weight of the full cup causes it to seal itself off. They were easy to install using the included drill bit. I did so 2 inches from the bottom of the bucket as instructed. It didn’t matter for me, since my bucket is elevated on a cinder block, but be aware that if your bucket isn’t going to be elevated you should install your cups at about 3 inches from the bottom of the bucket. If installed at 2 inches, the bottom of the cups will touch the ground once full and continue to leak water out, draining the bucket. Installing at 3 inches will allow the cups to completely clear the ground once full and they will be able to properly seal themselves off. Also, they contain silicone washers to be installed on both the interior and exterior of the bucket and a plastic nut inside of the bucket holds it all in place. The washers do a great job at preventing any leaks, which would quickly drain the bucket.

I marked 4 spots & started holes with thin nail before using the drill bit. Otherwise it just bounces off the plastic & marks up your bucket

These are awesome little auto watering cups, you can literally attach them to any container to turn it into a gravity fed watering hold for the chickens.Setting these are are super easy, comes with the drill bit in the exact size needed which is pretty awesome at the price point! They come with a spring loaded stopper which shuts when cups are full that way you have minimal waste, and keeps the nasties out of the main water source as well. There are 2 gaskets included which go on the inside and the outside of the threaded piece that goes through your hole made in the container, this keeps any leaks for occurring inside or out double the stopping power; they also confirm to any shaped container you have so even the curvature of a bucket won't be an issue with sealing these.I definitely recommend these, they are made well save a lot of time on feed and water chickens, and are a great deal. Hopefully they last for a long time but based on the quality I think the will.

Awesome! This is a brilliant idea. My pecker and pullit love it.. err..them. they? They love the cups! They stay full. Everytime some water goes out, more automatically fills the cup back up again.

Great concept, but need to be able to be fastened tighter. Thin plastic nuts snap before fixture can be tightened securely enough to prevent spinning. Especially if used on a bucket. Shape of bowl needs to be higher up front to make bowl level when filled with water.
