I got these to make gaskets for my dust collection system. They’re replacing the ones originally made that the manufacturer no longer makes. Part of wood working is solving problems by finding something else that does the same job.

Does a good job at sealing two hot surfaces. It does have good compressibility so it will hold in any smoke or gas that you're trying to contain. I don't have any way to test the temperature rating but it does hold up well when placing it on top of a heater. It does off gas quite a bit once it gets hot so you might want to run your stove or hot device outside before bringing it inside. I'm using this on the exhaust side of a furnace so it's well within the temperature limits for this gasket material. I did try to placing it on a stove and of course it burned being above the 2100F rated temperature. Open flames are between 2500-3000F, so that would make sense.Cutting it is relatively easy, just make sure you have a sharp edge. I used a utility blade and it worked well, but it does seem to dull blades relatively quickly. Works great for appliances that you're unable to find a replacement for (older appliances), or if you need something quickly. It's much cheaper than buying OEM and decently easy to cut and replace and I don't smell any exhaust gases blowing into the house so it appears to be doing its job.
