Rather than replacing the entire PVB valve I replaced the innards at a much cheaper price. It was easier to replace the valve part rather than replacing the entire valve.

Was looking to rebuild our 3/4" Febco 765 backflow preventer device (aka pressure vacuum breaker or PVB for short) that I believe is original and must've been 20+ yrs old. I was able to pick up the repair/rebuild kit from a local hardware store, however that kit only had the bonnet and the poppet assembly included. I bought this check valve kit from Amazon and it perfectly complements the other kit I purchased from Lowe's for a total rebuild of the inner valve. The kits seems to be OEM-grade quality, though it came in plain non-branded packaging. Time will tell how long this will last. Both kits cost me about $40 per kit, plus tax, so almost $100 in total. Total ripoff, but I hope the parts will last for another 20 yrs. And the ease of swapping out the inner components 100% beats removal and installing a brand new assembly which requires a lot more time even thought the cost of the brand new assembly and the two kits are very comparable.**Side note: if you're trying to figure out the size of your Febco 765 valve, look at the ball valves connected to your Febco assembly. It'll have the pipe fitting size inscripted on the side (e.g. '3/4'). The job itself is very simple and took me 15 mins once I had the right parts on hand.
