The OEM spade is considerable larger and the fuse is sized to fit. The spade on the pigtail is the size you typically use for a spade connector and it is questionable that it makes a solid connection to the fuse.

The terminal was made of thin/cheap metal. The locking tab broke off during install & left me having to order another from another company... The heat shrink was 2 pieces the same size. It was supposed to be one small enough to cover the cut end of a single wire; & one a bit larger to cover the two joined wires, & joined wire ends... The strands of wire were not entirely crimped inside the terminal leaving loose wire strands sticking out... Not even decent quality!! Save yourself a headache. Buy the Motorcraft kit to make sure you get decent quality. I did not & am now having to buy another kit to get the job done. The Motorcraft costs more; however, buying another kit on top of it makes no sense. Buy good quality the first time!! This was a waste of $$

No instructions included so find videos to follow or instructions elsewhere. I did the relocation on a 2010 f150 that was giving me a lot of crank no starts, especially in cold mornings. When the truck would start it would sputter off if not holding down the gas. Fuel pump fuse was melted a year ago but that wasn't the case anymore. The fuse i replaced a year ago was still in tact. But constant crank no starts. I figured changing a wire around for under $15 was worth a shot and it worked. Perfect startups after relocating to a bigger 20amp fuse with larger surface area. Be certain which wire you're cutting. There's several excellent how to vids on utube. I followed along and have perfect startups ever since

There is a flaw in the design of these trucks, the stock fuse is the right amperage, but the contact points in the fuse box are not sufficient enough to avoid overheating. My truck took an extra cycle to crank right before the original fuse blew, I was able to drive home, but when I went to start the truck again it cranked and wouldn't start because the fuse going to the fuel pump was blown. I was able to replace the 20A original fuse and get back on the road again but any time a fuse blows, there is a bigger problem that needs to be addressed and that's where this kit comes in.Without this repair kit, the problem would have continued, and the small melted area around the original fuse would have continued to grow in size, potentially ruining the whole fuse box.Get this kit if you have one of these trucks, shame on Ford for not issuing a recall for this obvious design flaw, but since that probably won't happen you'd be best off getting this kit and installing it yourself. Look it up on YouTube, there are great videos that skip a few unnecessary steps from the official Ford service bulletin instructions - also check the F150 forum, that's a great resource and if you own one of these trucks you need to be there anyway.
