Easy to pack and a great quality lock. The smaller size makes it a little more challenging to lock up in certain situations but the weight savings are worth it.

This is a good lock that seems solid and it's small/light to carry. The down-side to this is that it isn't very long. If you are trying to lock to a thick bike rack it may not reach. Also, the key is a little bit tricky to line up but you get used to that.

This lock has a very high security rating in independent testing and is unusually light for its size. Fits right into the u-lock pocket on a Chrome Buran III messenger bag. Tumbler seems smooth, not worried it's going to seize up and leave me stranded like Onguard tumblers do.I can't fairly give it a fifth star because it's too small to reach the front wheel. Maybe it can on some bikes; I have an 80s mountain bike with 26" rims. But even with safety skewers, I'm worried someone will jack my front wheel and I'd prefer it locked up. I live in a big city with a rather obvious meth problem and open air bike chop shops/graveyards visible from the highway. So people in lower crime areas can give it five stars; might not be ideal for NYC, Portland .etc -- go one size longer?

Doesn't fit around every bike rack. Just be aware that it's a smaller lock and it will be nearly impossible to lock both a wheel and the frame to the bike rack or post at the same time. But I do love this lock.

Kurzfassung:+ Die Länge reicht mir persönlich meist aus.+ hochwertig+ leicht+ schadstofffrei (laut Test)+ sicher und langlebig (laut Test).- Nur zwei Schlüssel beiliegend, davon keiner mit LED (beim Onguard gabs 5 oder 6!)- keine Halterung (beim Onguard inkl.!)- (manchmal) etwas hakeliger als mein OnGuard Pitbull 8002- Preis (58 €. Mein Onguard hat als 30 cm Schloss mit besserer Note bei "Aufbruchsicherheit" nur ca. 30 € gekostet! Laut Youtube ist allerdings der Schließzylinder des ABUS besser.)Für Alltagsfahrten und Touren war ich lange auf der Suche nach einem sicheren aber leichten Schloss. Mein Onguard Pitbull 8002 ist mir meistens zu groß, zu schwer, zu unhandlich, vor allem wenn ich ohne Korb nur mit Rucksack fahren möchte. Am Rucksack macht es sich übrigens echt gut, wenn dieser mit MOLLE Schlaufen ausgestattet ist (siehe Bild). Zum Anschließen brauche ich die Länge des 30 cm Onguard Pitbull 8002 nur selten, weshalb das Schloss ungünstig am Fahrrad hängt. Daher habe ich mich jetzt bewusst für das kurze Abus entschieden. Natürlich ist es manchmal grenzwertig und man sollte wissen, worauf man sich einlässt, aber normalerweise funktioniert es tadellos. Es macht richtig Spaß und ist irgendwie befreiend, wenn einen das Schloss nicht mehr runterzieht und ausbremst.

Like the smaller size and the lighter weight of this bike lock which looks as indestructible as any bike lock can possibly be. Only downside is that I don’t think they make an attachment for it to mount it to the bike when not in use so I had to use Velcro ties to attach in to the underside of my seat.

This is a great little lock that came highly rated on a few external bike specialist sites. One of the reviews was a side by side comparison of competing products, subjected to the highest pressures using machines that simulated the most common methods thieves use to break locks.NOTE: To complete this setup you will want to get the Abus mounting kits parts that fit this lock. It comes in two parts: 1) ABUS Shackle Clamp for 640 U Lock - 2) ABUS TexKF-Mini Lock Carrier. It was a bit confusing to nail down exactly what parts would work for this lock....also, finding a supplier on here that carried them that would deliver them in a reasonable time frame during Covid era. (try lockitt).The lock mounts perfectly on my Trek DS2 with the above setup. Also note that once you have the shackle (part the fits on the U bar of the lock) - you will have to shave some of the vinyl off the bar to get the shackle far enough up on the bar (at first it won't seem to fit, you'll see what I mean once you have the shackle and try to get it on. Its very easy to cut the vinyl away with a box knife.

Es perfecto para usarlo con bicis o patinetes en parking de bicis (ya que no es demasiado grande y en farolas no podrás usarlo). Yo la uso con mi patinete y tiene el tamaño perfecto, se puede enganchar también en las típicas señales de trafico finas aunque puede dar más problemas. Tiene una gran seguridad por ser en U y un peso bastante ligero para lo robusto que es. Además es muy bonito. Algunas personas se quejan de que la llave se puede atascar un poco, pero eso solo pasa si no la introduces por completo, si la insertas con normalidad va perfectamente y muy fluida. Si buscas seguridad + comodidad y tu ciudad tiene bastantes parkings de bicis la recomiendo completamente, si quieres un candado versátil y necesitarás engancharlo en farolas busca otro.

Lightest U-lock I could find with a high security rating: just under 2 pounds on the supermarket produce scale, 12/15 on the Abus security scale. Doesn't come with a bracket for frame-mounting but that's OK: I can hang it on the handlebar stem or put it in a backpack, or whatever. Also: I have 2 road bikes, an expensive one & a cheaper, and even with this lock I NEVER put the bestie in a place where it would be locked outside, away from my view, for any significant period of time. Bit of advice I got from a biking mentor years ago: "The only time a bicycle is stolen is when it's locked up somewhere."

Das ABUS Granit Plus 640 macht sich super an meinem Fahrrad. Die rote Ummantelung setzt sich wunderbar von dem schwarzen Rahmen ab und sieht super aus (wem das nicht gefällt, kann es sich ja auch in Schwarz/grau/ bestellen).Die Funktionalität des Schlosses ist ebenfalls sehr gut. Es ist recht klein aber das sollte anhand der Produktbeschreibung klar werden. Das Schloss umschließt problemlos den Rahmen des Fahrrades mit einer Vielzahl der üblichen Fahrradständer. Wenn man das Hinterrad ebenfalls mit abschließen möchte, ist dies jedoch fast unmöglich. Hier eignet sich dann wohl die längere Variante des Granit 640 besser.Ich persönlich kombiniere das Bügelschloss oftmals (je nach Situation) mit einem ABUS Cobra Kabelschloss. Das klappt super und bietet viele Möglichkeiten. So können beispielsweise auch beide Räder mit abgeschlossen werden. Es empfiehlt sich jedoch immer, den Rahmen mit dem Bügelschloss zu sichern.Weiterhin ist auch aus der Produktbeschreibung ersichtlich, dass bei diesem Schloss keine Halterung mitgeliefert wird. Eine Halterung ist hierbei vom Hersteller nicht vorgesehen und auch typisch für so ein leichtes Kurierschloss.Da ich noch einen "ABUS KLICKFIX Seilschloss Halter - Satteladapter" von meinem alten Schloss hatte, habe ich das Schloss mit einer ABUS Bügelklemme (12mm) unter meinem Sattel angebracht. Das passt wunderbar und löst das "Problem" der fehlenden Halterung. Hierzu muss jedoch ein kleines Stück der Ummantelung abgetrennt werden. - Wahlweise kann man das Schloss aber auch einfach um den Lenker hängen oder in den Rucksack stecken.Trotz des leichten Gewichts, macht das Schloss jedoch einen extrem sicheren und hochwertigen Eindruck. Wer Sicherheit bei geringem Gewicht sucht, ist hier gut bedient.
