Don't get this if you have neighbors. It will go off often when you try to take it off, it's not easy to get the key in the hole correctly. Meanwhile the alarm goes off. You'll go through this every time you want to use it. It "arms" so quickly that it'll sometimes even go off when you put it on your bike, and it's not an easy fit. This thing will annoy you. It's only worth getting if you plan to park your bike outside for long periods of time. Not worth the hassle for daily usage.

I've been using this on my R1200GS for a few months now. It's quite sturdy, clearly visible to would be thieves (including the LED that blinks every several seconds), alarm is quite audible (can hear it up the block and from my 3rd-floor apartment), and not too difficult to install/remove.However, the coding on the alarm has one baffling flaw. When the lock senses that it has been installed, it arms itself within 5 seconds. As I said, this lock is not too difficult to put into place, however it does take some adjusting at times to get it into position, especially when used with a safety cable (which you should always use as a backup, even though the alarm would probably prevent you from riding off if you forgot to remove the lock).Because the arming cycle is so short, it is very easy to set off the alarm while trying to get the lock into place, or even remove the key. This is absolutely a poor design decision. No one is going to try to steal my bike while I am standing beside it (if this does happen I have a bigger problem to deal with). It would be completely find to increase the arming time to 10 or even 30 seconds. OR, have the LED signal that alarm is armed, but have a timeout of 30 seconds on the alarm itself.Get this right in the next version, ABUS, and you have a 5-star product.

Me ha encantadoLlevo el ultimo año probando varios candados y pinzas y de esta "pinza" solo puedo hablar bienPor el momento estoy super contento. El candado se ve muy muy solido y la alarma suena fuerte. Es casi imposible que con el viento o el paso de un camión se active ya que no es tan sensible como alguna que he probado. Pero si lo suficiente como para que si alguien te mueve la moto minimamente se activeEl perno que engancha es solido y se amarra muy facilmente en el disco de frenoEn definitiva, merece mucho la pena. No es barato pero lo vale

After getting an Abus heavy-duty chain cut through overnight, we added this to our small electric moped kept outside. While the moped does have disc brakes, the design is such that it won't fit through the holes in the disc and hence must go on the front wheel. So the pin size and gap size on the device have to be double checked against your vehicle's brakes/wheels/space around the discs. However, for us it works effectively there, too, and in combination with an even heavier/hardened chain it's already deterred someone who came back a few nights later to try again.The device itself is a testy little punk, exactly as it should be. If someone brushes against your vehicle while getting their bike out of a rack it's probably not going off; your neighbors won't hate you. But anything more than that and it gets properly cranky. Definitely have to put it on last and take it off first, being quick with your key.Is it bombproof? I don't know; someone somewhere has probably figured out how to jack anything. But it makes sense for our apartment living, as the noise matters and it also keeps someone from rolling off with the moped if they manage to get through the chain or rack.

Not much to say about the Detecto X Plus other than it works as intended at securing my BMW at my apartments parking garage. The alarm is very loud and would defiantly scare off a would be thief if it were to go off. Its very solid and has some heft to it, if you were to carry it around with you in a backpack you'd defiantly feel it. An Issue I had was that because of it's larger size vs other Abus disk locks it wasn't able to place it on the back wheel. Not a deal breaker by any means, but just something to note.

i took a chance on ths fitting my 1978 hd. i had to drill out a vent hole on my rear disc to use the unit. it meets my expectations and i like the extra security. i ended up buying the matching chain, which also works well. i suggest buying them together to save yourself a few dollars. you will need a .760 hole minimum for the lock bolt when using the chain. its not that loud, but will deter. a bluetooth link to your phone would be great.

easy to use, works great, no false alarms, but move the bike and alarm goes off as it should. strong lock mechanism and heavy duty steel, yet not so heavy to keep around on the motorcycle on day trips and overnight. From my opinion, better than lugging around a heavy chain and lock.

Tengo hace poco tiempo una yamaha x-max 125 modelo 2018. Tenia dudas sobre este modelo de candado, pero en el momento que llego y lo probé todo mis dudas se disiparon.Perfecto para esta moto y para su freno de disco, solo me ha costado ponerlo dos veces para hacerme con él. La primera vez sonó la alarma mientras lo ponía, pero solo fue la primera vez.Donde esta aparcad la moto todo el día es un paso muy intenso de coches y aun no ha saltado por este motivo. ademas de ser una calle estrecha.Una vez puesto el aspecto es contundente, como es lógico nadie te garantiza que no se lleve la moto, pero yo como caco me iría sin duda por otra mas fácil .el sonido de la alarma es muy bueno. y con su bolsa, que viene con el candado, queda muy protegido dentro de la moto.sin duda alguna recomiendo sus comprar y en caso necesario para la moto de mi hijo ya que candado comprar.

Very good product!This is a really reassuring piece of kit, it feels incredibly sturdy and fits perfectly under the seat of my Street Triple! The lock will beep intermittently if you stand the bike up before taking it off so it really will be difficult to try riding away with it still in situ.The lighted key is great, although it emits a blue light rather than white. All in all this is a fantastic lock and I would thoroughly recommend if you take the security of your motorcycle seriously.
