Material Composition Acrylic mats are made from high-quality acrylic a durable, rigid material that is transparent, highly resistant to scratches, and non-porous, providing a smooth surface for optimal record playback.
Thickness The thickness impacts the isolation of the record and platter, with thicker mats offering better vibration damping and noise reduction that's why We keep our Record Player mats 2.7mm Thick.
Vibration Damping Properties Acrylic Turntable Mats are designed to reduce unwanted vibrations and resonance from the turntable motor or surrounding environment. This minimizes distortion, ensuring clearer, more accurate sound reproduction.
Surface Texture The surface of an acrylic mat is usually smooth and uniform, providing a stable, even contact point for the record. This helps maintain proper speed and reduces slippage, leading to consistent playback performance.
Static Resistance These Acrylic Slipmats are non-static, meaning they do not attract dust or static charges, which can cause pops, crackles, or damage to records. This property helps maintain cleaner records and improves overall audio quality.
Aesthetic Appeal Our Acrylic Turntable mats have a sleek, modern look due to their transparent finish. This adds a visually appealing touch to your turntable setup, complementing both vintage and contemporary designs.

First off, for the price this is a really nice option. It looks great, seems well made and fits well on both the post and the platter. I can't say I've noticed a change in sound quality but it certainly doesn't affect the sound negatively. It does seem to scratch rather easily so be careful. One of the main reasons I purchased this is because I read that the acrylic mats are less prone to static. I took that with a grain of salt because most plastic will harbor a static charge. And that's true with this. It does get static build-up. It's significantly less than the felt mat which would stick to the record when removing it. With this, I simply discharge the static manually and it's not an issue.
