1. The metal anchor is for walls, which will not cause the wall to peel off. Adhesive anchor is for furniture, which will not be damaged by drilling holes.
2. For large furniture, it is recommended to install 2 or 3 pairs for better stability.

The sticky part on this Adhesive Furniture Anchor, LANMU 20 Pack Anti Tip Furniture Wall Anchor is not as sticky as I hoped it would be. Worried it won't hold.

Nice to have a set of furniture wall anchors to prevent tipping of shelves, dressers, and the like, but the adhesive option in this set seems quite untrustworthy. (Even in the product listing it's rated at only 160-some pounds of force, which is realistically far less than might be exerted by a falling bookshelf or a child standing on a dresser drawer. And that's not even considering the possibility of peeling off the underlying substrate, a real danger with drywall walls or laminate Ikea furniture!) I wouldn't trust these adhesive discs with my safety at all. So with only 10 screw-down metal plates, if you use them at both ends, this set is good for only 5 pieces of furniture. Still, not a terrible value, I guess...
