Considering the cost, these poles are great and do a good job of holding my 8 x6 fly off the side of my van. They fit together well, and they come with a nice storage bag too. These held up to 2 storms so far with no issues. They are not super heavy duty but they are very good for the money in my experience.

Disappointed in this product. Flimsy when all 5 sections are together. No rope for securing included so additional cost.

I got these so I could turn my car mounted canopy into a free standing. The poles are sturdy. I love that they are free of each other and not connected with a bungee cord down the center, that way I can adjust the height depending on my needs. Exactly what I needed.

I bought a set of these to use for the awning I keep over the tailgate of my 2015 4Runner while camping. Decided I needed more legs so I bought another set. Sturdy. Easy to assemble. Easy to disassemble. Easy to store. What's not to like?

We bought 2 sets because the first set didn't hold the sunshade high enough to walk under (we are up to 5'11) so we needed extra poles. The poles flex under the weight of a 10x10 sunshade which seems fairly light for them to be flexing/bowing. They straighten back out when weight is off of them (so the integrity of the metal seems good?) but maybe lengthening the part of the poles that go inside the other poles would fix the bendy issue. They are easy to put together and did the job but not something I would suggest for heavy tarps or weather.

These poles work perfectly for my SUV Tailgate tent/awning! Just the right height, easy to put together and sturdy enough to do the job while maintaining light weight! The price is great!

I was fairly please with these poles, but I wish they had been a little sturdier. They bent a little more than expected when tarping which caused a loss in height of an additional inch or two. I may have been expecting too much of them. That said, if you had a smaller sized tarp, they would work great. They assembled easily and were easy to take down. The value was average. I will use these, but when it comes time to replace will most likely upgrade.

I bought one pair of these, then came back a few months later to buy a second pair.I used them with a camping tarp/fly I bought off of Amazon (has the tarp, lines and spikes).Together, I've been able to rig any number of configurations to keep the sun and rain off me. With four poles, I can cover an enormous area to keep the sun away. I've even parked partially underneath so the truck camper shell was kept out of direct sunlight, while the rest of the cover provided shade for a campsite. With two poles, I've rigged a tarp over a picnic table to provide protection from a light shower. I've also tied the tarp to the truck at one end, and then used two poles at the other end to create an extended awning for well under $80 all-in. I've also created some privacy by rigging one end of the tarp to two poles and the other end to the ground. That same configuration proved useful when winds picked up and were creating a hassle of blowing dust and sand at the campsite.I have a set of "infinitely adjustable" poles as well, which are much heavier weight. But they only break down to 1/2 the full length (instead of 5 pieces) and I find the pieces in this set can be used flexibly enough to meet all my needs. The pressure springs inside help hold the pole segments together, but they do not lock. They are convenient for setting up and moving around the poles. But once set, the pole is pressurized between the ground and the tarp/tie-down line at the top, so nothing really has to hold the segments together.I wouldn't rely upon these to hold up heavy canvas tarps or to serve as the main poles supporting a large tent. But for a fly or small/mid-sized tarp (5'x7'-12'x12'), they do the job very well.Update: Have now had them for two years. Used them many times. No issues at all - no bends, no breaks, no chips even. They roll around in a box in my truck all the time. I love the flexible configuration - sometimes I go full height, sometimes I set one pair of poles lower to block a view (eg neighboring campsite) or serve as a bit of a wind stop or to allow rain to run off in one direction.
