Excellent filtration system. My application is Porsche 3.0L NA 968 for street & track. Highly recommend this product as a superior alternative to KN

Have run several of these afe dry filters. As far as I can tell, they filter well, and not having to oil them is nice. I run speed density so I don't have to worry about oil in the maf sensor but I still prefer these. Quick and easy to clean and slap it back on.

Of AFE's product offerings, this one fits in the middle in terms of filtering efficiency. Proguard (expensive and oiled) filters are claimed to filter at 99.7% and the slightly cheaper (than ProDry but oiled models claim 97.8%. Don't quote me, these are just ballpark figures from what I remember reading. The ProDry, however, offers the (subjectively) huge advantage of easy reloading: you simply wash gently and dry, no oil needed to (possibly) foul MAF sensors if you accidentally over-oil.The trade off, of course, is performance. The cheapest model likely allows the most airflow and vice versa. Any gains experienced with any setup consisting of little more than an intake system will not be much of a difference to be worth it, in my opinion. I'm in the school of thought siding with cleaner air instead of "throaty" intake noise which translates to almost zero power. This filter I purchased by some fluke or price mistake: much cheaper than market price, so I bit. The price immediately shot up EIGHTEEN DOLLARS+ after my purchase. It may not filter as cleanly as my previous Volant Powercore (made by Donaldson) but it does feel a tad quicker with minimal testing so far. I plan to take times with my in car accelerometer. The total surface area of the filtering media is somewhat smaller than the stock K&N which came with my FIPK induction system, but I am pleased with the sound: it doesn't give that "throaty" noise when you open up the throttle wide open. I have a Apex World Sport Exhaust also and it sounds nice and subtle, like how it should be stock. On an IS300, this size fits perfect and the flange is wide enough to allow for plenty of movement. If you want a loud intake, look elsewhere. This one is high(ish) flow, easy to clean, and sounds fairly quiet (at the cost of dirtier intake/throttle body/motor oil/ etc - easily taken care of with sound maintenance).
